I pretty much ****ed up most my goals I planned to achieve this year, and of course, I am to blame, but there's always next year. I'm not sure what I'll be doing this New Years Eve, apart from drinking...

Anyway, my 2008 goals include:

1) Get my drivers license

2) Get a job

3) Complete my Business & Management Diploma

4) Join a gym and keep going till I'm past my use by date

5) Keep up my running

6) Play and complete at least one play through of TSL with TSLRP on my laptop.

That's all I can think of at this rate. Yeah alright, I stole that line...

2007

Continue to stay fit

2008

Get in shape (The last three months of 2007 ended my running and working out every other day)

Live everyday as it is my last.

Stop procrastinating on tell people how I feel. I’ve always been more of a doer instead of a talker. I’ve always expected people to know how from my actions and not my words. 2007 taught me that actions are nice, but sometimes the people we love need to hear the words too. Lost someone like a sister to me and a stepmother during the last thirteen months, I will not let anyone else I know die without them knowing how I feel. Working on number three now as my stepfather will not be around much longer. I’ve made the mistake twice; I will try not to do it again.

@Hall, my newsletter involves things like "Today, I saw an oil tanker and thought it was a dinosaur. When it turned out not to be, I decided to try wishing very hard that it was a dinosaur and seeing whether that worked. It didn't. Darn."

@Sabretooth, my father is receptive to RAM, but how oh how am I to even broach the topic of graphics cards? Needz tips!:p

The technique I used is, download the demo of a new game that is new enough to just run on your PC with horrible framerates, even at low settings. I used the UT3 demo here. :p Play it at low framerates in front of your dad, and try to look depressed. Say that it was a game you were waiting for months and now you can't play it. If you see no direct effect within a week, repeat the procedure and concentrate more on the being depressed part.

Worked for me. :D

2007 -

1.) Get car insurance.

2.) Upgrade my GPU (and preferably, my CPU as well, but I doubt it)

3.) Buy Christmas gifts before Christmas Eve.

2008 -

1.) Pick back up on guitar and finish learning how to play it.

2.) Learn to speak French.

3.) Learn how to go outside more often.

4.) Start working out.

5.) Get to be as awesome as this guy.

6.) And of course, find that special lady (if I haven't already).

I'll probably end up ****ting all over them, but at least it's nice to have a little bit of direction going into a new year.

I'd love to be able to that (in my case, it's Crysis :xp: ), but my dad never comes into my room (thank God), and even if he did, he'd probably yell at me to get off the freakin' computer and do something productive.

You always hear about people breaking up

Ehh, so I should not get a girl to prevent a break up from happening? Sounds like it's something wrong with the "breaking up" part rather than the "be in love" part. Besides, acording to my parents, breaking up dosen't need to be bad.

and most of the time it seems like you'd be living a lie, always being on your best behavior around them

I'm hoping to avoid that by never changing my behavior, unless I intend to change it for good. Has worked nicely regarding friends, (few, but I never need to worry about them lying), so it might work with girlfriends.

Perhaps, but I don't know that I've ever heard of a "good" breakup. Care to explain?

Yeah I don't really know you personally, so I can't say too much; anything's possible and I wish you the best of luck if you get a girlfriend. But I wouldn't trust myself to do that, as I know I act very differently around different people.

Note that I'm not against having friends who are girls - that's all well and good. I actually think you can get to know someone better as a friend than as a boy/girl-friend. Singling out one girl to be a girlfriend seems kind of like someone shopping for a house and asking for the house to be taken off the market until he decides if he wants to buy it or not. And the person selling the house tells them okay, but they have to refrain from looking into buying any other houses until they decide if they want their house or not. (Please pardon the perhaps-crude analogy. Note that it's not mine; I got it from someone else.)

You don't have to have a girlfriend to get married.

</my opinion> (Am I getting too far off-topic?)
