Hey everyone,

 

A quick update:

 

I’m 70-73% done with the content phase.

 

 

Revan must sound persuasive. His voice must must likable by just about everyone. It must also have power in it, his words must reach into your heart and implant themselves there.

 

The Exile is a very empathic character, so her voice should reflect that. Where Revan's persuasion is more of the inspiring, Barack Obama type, the Exile's VOs must have a sense that she is bonding with you just by being present in the same continent.

 

I like how you broke down Revan and the Exile’s personalities.

 

By the end of the month I will release the list of what will be included in the Demo. :)

Well, if you like it so much....

 

Revan:

Here you have a mastermind tactician, a great persuader, and a supreme Force user. To me this speaks "overperformer". Revan strikes me as a guy who is highly competitive and wants to achieve everything there is to achieve. He knows what he wants and how to get it. He's sort of the Captain Kirk of Star Wars in that he does not believe in no-win scenarios. The idea of loosing or letting people down is probably his greatest fear.

 

I'd say his weakness would be trust. I get the impression that he's trusted people before and they let him down. His natural instinct was to still trust people but his strategic side started making him very suspicious of others. Unfortunately he wasn't suspicious enough, since he overlooked his closest friend Alek/Malak and nearly died.

Hey,

 

Another quick update:

 

I'm 90% Done with the Content Phase.

The rest of the content will be placed in during the Post Production.

 

The Post Production Phase has started:)

 

Before I get to this... I want to welcome Lord of Hunger onto the Team.

He will be helping me with Dialogues/Side Quests and Story Refinement.

 

Right now I'm working with Lord of Hunger in creating/ fine tuning the NPC/PC Dialogues.

 

I'm adding alien VO's and their lips.

 

I'm also starting to do some heavy reskinning of the modules for the game.

 

I'm also working on some new movies and cut scenes which will be using Blue Screen to allow me to create better Bink videos.

 

 

onto questions:

btw, will u find the exile depending on his/hers dark side or light side alignment?

 

Edit: eg, if s/he is dark, will u find him/her at malachor, or somewhere else if lightside?

 

The ending to kotor2 will not affect wither you bump into the Jedi Exile. The ending will affect his mood and other events/people.

 

I'm starting to make the list of what will be in the Mod.

Just want to say, I have read the plot summary and outline. Without giving you any spoilers as I probably don't have the authority to do so, I can honestly say this conversion has been well conceived and when complete will be one of the best non-restoration mods for KOTOR/TSL out there.

You've really sped along in my prolonged absence.... it's tempting to try to join the team just in order to read what LoH has sketched out for this....

 

Ah well, glad to see that: A)This is still alive and B)There's a lot of progress made.

Yeah, Nar Shaddaa should work wonderfully as Coruscant when reskinned... especially because you're going for the Industrial look....

 

Now all we need are some giant monsters and a steam powered star ship.... make KotOR 2: Steampunk...

 

Anyway, all of the modules look nice, however I think that you might benefit from getting somebody who knows how to model good looking modules in on your team. Not to say that these reskins aren't bad looking -because they're not- but maybe you could add some flavor to it as opposed to simply recycling old modules that everybody knows...

 

Just a suggestion since a reskin can change the whole feel of a module, but maybe something to ponder Logan.

I have actually been trying to model the Senate Rotunda for this mod, but all I've managed to do so far is create an obj in GoogleSketchUp that might not work in GMax. I asked TriggerGod to take care of the rest but he has a bunch of other projects right now.

 

I took a look at it in 3ds Max, and it looked... pretty horrid, TBH. It looked like an ax murderer went at the polys, making some of the polys look like they were "flying" out at me while I rotated my view, if you know what I mean. After I heavily edited it, the model looked good. If I can get it so that several hundred people + you can fit in it and look good at the same time, I'll export it... and hope for the best.

I have really taken a liking to the voice of KevinSocal (YouTube Username: kevinsocal2k6), the creator of KOTOR: The Movie Trilogy, where he Voices Revan.

 

Ex.

If you could get a hold of him via PM, I think he would be perfect.

 

BTW: If you're having problems with KotOR 2 running on Vista, and also own original KotOR, you can take the file "mss23.dll" from the KOTOR directory and replace the file "Mss23.dll" in the KOTOR 2 directory with it.

I'm fairly certain that if someone has Vista and TSL, then they have the Vista fix.

I first want to say, I loved the Kotor movie he and his team created:thmbup1:

 

As for using him as the voice of Revan is still being debated.

Once all of Revan's lines/dlg are finalized then I will look into seeing what would be the best voice for the male Revan which could be Kevin but I don't even know if he will have time or be interested in the project.

This will be discuss further into the production of the Final version of RoR.

Senate Rotunda for this mod and other new modules will hopefully be able to make it into the Final version of RoR.

New Modules will be discussed after the Demo is released.

 

I want to translate this mod in french, for all texts. If you want send me english texts, and i do this quickly. I wan't to join or create a "french team" for that.

& the work for voices after.

 

Translating the Mod to French/text can be done but its something that will be looked at after the release of the Demo.

 

One issue is if any of the dialogues get tweaked after the Demo's release-this would lead you to redo some of the work so I don't know if this is something you would want to pursue after the full release verse the Demo's release.

Make sure your dialog is final for the NPCs before recording VO's. Otherwise you'll end up frustrating both yourself and the voice actors. ;)
