There is a pretty detailed appearance.2da walkthrough at http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=148638 that you can use to help you sort through what each field means so you can decide what changes you need to make. You'll need the Kotor Tool from starwarsknights.com as well. If the two mods don't write to the same part of the .2da and they both have the tsl patcher, just use that program and it will make the changes for you. The tsl patcher works for both kotor I and kotor II. The .2da editing section here also has some good walkthroughs for combining two .2da's.
