As Patrick Henry once said, "...Give me liberty or give me death..."

Happy Day of Freedom.

Happy 232nd Aniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Indepence.

@SilverEdge9: I don't think we're gonna give our land of freedom back anytime soon.

Government schools dont teach that the indians welcomed the "invaders" as friends anymore. Nor did they teach that a lot of more warlike tribes often attacked the colonial settlements. Or that not all indian tribes lived in peace with each other, and that American colonists didnt just run around butchering hapless indian tribes for land. Nah, can't teach that anymore...

Slave buying didnt start until the 1700s. Puritans didn't own slaves; they also tried socialistic-communism when they got here, failed miserably. Government schools dont teach that either... Oh, and not everyone owned slaves despite what you might have been "taught".

So can we just leave it at Happy Independence Day? Please.

I would also like to point out that, my Grandma is Mohawk indian, my dad came from Ireland, and my grandpas parents came to America in the early 1900s from England.

It was only a joke...

Happy Cornwallis Day!

Although 'we' (the British Empire) may have lost, at least the colonials were kind enough to invite the entire British Staff for a post-war meal afterwards :D. Well, with the exception of one...

So, happy Independence Day, American cousins!

Its on this day I cry the most, Europe giving up their claim on the states... :(

Blame the French... they sold Lousiana. We can just be culturally superior and snobbish, anyway. Who's up for some interpretive dance in the mode of mauve? Narration will take the form of a man in a top hat counting to twenty in Classical Italian. :xp:

Thomas Paine was British.
