R.I.P Alexander Solzhenitsyn

It is you, Solzhenitsyn, to whom I owe a great debt when I write my stories. Why?

You had the courage to tear the veil away from a reality many preferred to avoid facing.

You had the passion to speak out, and speak boldly, while many stayed silent from fear.

You had the humility to remember your humanity while your torturers were losing theirs.

You had the wisdom to see that the gulag, for all the work done there, did no good at all.

You had the love to forgive your enemies and forget grudges for the sake of the world.

Most of all, you had the victory, for the gulag died long before you did. Rest in Peace!
