The new Normandy looks amazing. The old one was cool too, but it did bug me that, aside from Shepard's quarters, there was no sleep area for the rest of the Normandy's numerous crewmembers, unless they slept in those pods. Anyway, looking really forward to this game, so much that I'm actually replaying ME so when I do transfer my current character to ME2 I'll know exactly what choices I made.

I always figured that there were unexplorable parts of the ship where all that stuff would be. Such as a toilet. There is no explorable toilet in the SR1. Does that mean that the crew held it all in for a couple months? :xp:

I was going to do that too, but circumstances prevented me. I don't think theres enough time now. :(

Someone's been watching too much storyline hentai...

Fix'd :xp:

On a side note, I'm hoping the identity of the Shadow Broker is finally revealed. I'm going with the Volus' theory that its a group of people working under the same identity. Otherwise, I speculate it could be something as sophisticated as an AI working under the name.

aka, G0-t0

could be the cerberus fellow.

What does everyone think about Cerberus? I wanted to punch their faces in after what happened in the first game. Now we've got to work with them? Also, this Miranda and Jacob seem nice, but apparently are cerberus operatives. Y'know, like the dumbasses you killed on uncharted worlds.

If i get the chance, im gonna give this Illusive Man a few choice words...

Only for educational purposes. :D

Probably more of a JRPG thing than a WRPG thing..

 Definitely an expected reaction, but where did she pull out that bow from?

Back on topic, I'm actually curious to see the explanation behind Cerberus' operating openly. I mean, they were a rogue extremist organization in the original and now Shepard and both his new and some of the old crew are working for them. Not to mention the new Normandy having a big Cerberus logo printed on the hull. You'd expect any Alliance officer who sees you arriving on that thing to question you about Cerberus and detain you, but that doesn't seem to be the case as we'll be able to revisit the Citadel and Councilman Anderson with no trouble.

Just about to start a fresh run through myself for exactly the same reason. It's been a while since I played it and I can't remember exactly which character did what. I might see if I can note down all the obvious "choices" that may get resolution or reprisal in ME2.

A new one that I found out about just today watching some vids on GameTrailers is that the reporter on Citadel Station shows up again. That "Time to shut you up!" line was one of my favourite moments in the game (along with the "Say goodnight.." on Eden Prime) and it seems you can give a repeat performance.

The vids I was talking about, for those interested:

Exclusive Sci vs Fi Doc Part I

Exclusive Sci vs Fi Doc Part II

Exclusive Sci vs Fi Doc Part III

where did she pull out that bow from?

It was leaning against the wall at the start (it folds up quite similar to ME weapons). Edge knocking it over is what alerted her to the fact that someone was there.

If I were to guess I'd assume Shepard doesn't have much choice in the matter. Sounds like Cerberus has been performing some surgery on her, giving those new cybernetic implants. And while their primary purpose may be psionics/biotic power or some such, I wouldn't be surprised if it included some Cerberus precautions to ensure Shepard do as they say as well. If not outright mindcontrol even something as simple as a killswitch would be effective for a "do as we say, or else..." kind of control.

As for them operating openly, doesn't necessarily have to be so (and I hope they don't. The Spectres are already ridiculous as a supposedly secret organization where half the galaxy recognizes their covert operatives on sight). Shepard is (I assume) still a Spectre and would be recognized by others as working as one when interacting with them.

The Cerberus logo, while stupid, doesn't exactly have to be a giveaway in most situations prompting investigation by most Alliance personnel. Since (according to the first game) Cerberus was so secret that only a handful of members of the SA top military brass even knew of their existence that logo wouldn't mean anything to most people seeing it. :)

And the new ship... well, Saren was apparently cruising around the galaxy in Sovereign for many years before the Eden Prime incident without anyone raising an eyebrow or questioning him. So apparently it's normal for Spectres to have some exotic, esoteric equipment nobody's quite sure where it comes from. :p

While that's plausible, i'm not sure Bioware would go with that sort of thing. Shepard's a badass no-one-messes-with, walk with swagger kind of guy/gal, regardless of renagade or paragon (i cant remember where, but this idea was specifically put forth by bioware themselves somewhere.).

Having something like a mind control chip would seriously knock down the awesomeness. (and would basically make Shepard General Grievous, who was a tool).

Also, this Miranda and Jacob seem nice,

Miranda seems very nice to Shepard indeed. I came across a screencap of them getting jiggy. Miranda was stradling Shepard and seemed to be sliding off that signature top of hers. o_O

Its nice to see that in Mass Effect, the characters look normal and not ridiculously perfect. And with the graphics these days, they can really pull it off: Miranda has 4 noticeable moles across her top front excluding her boobs [still had a bra on, and it was *lace*! (as i said, graphics!)], and a kind of a weird head shape (which is actually Yvonne Strahovski's lol).

:xp:

But seriously, whats the opinion on the whole sexor thing?

IMO Bioware is getting bold. That screencap was a fancy camera angle almost facing Miranda, and judging by the camera shot, it seemed as if it were a more 'wohoo, lets bang!' kind of scene than what was in ME1.(but then i cant really remember 1's scene as i only saw it once ages ago) I hope that they keep it all at the same level ME1 was; that was all thats needed. Pushing the boundaries further would be not cool imo. Its needless, and itll only serve to detriment my chances of playing the game. :(

Also, apparently some idiot has gotten his hands on the collector's edition and posted pictures on the internet. Be weary of spoilers! :eyepop

That was merely an unsubstantiated vicious rumor designed to belittle Shepard. My female Shepard did not have implants, she is not that kind of young lady. If Cerberus has now given her implants, then I pity them because she is that type of girl.:xp:

Nah, they were bold in Jade Empire where they allowed you to get both girls. :dev11:

@stoffe: You may have a point about the logo thing, but Shepard working with Cerberus is bound to come up at some point and it'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

Mass Effect has all the social edginess of a Shakespeare comedy. BioWare's inclusion of what censors like to call "sexual themes" in their games has nothing to do with pushing the boundaries or pushing the buttons of the bourgeois classes. It is, rather, an a bare-faced attempt to play off sexuality "as they like it" to generate profit. Those sex scenes, rather than being a logical progression of story and development of character, were so absurdly out of key with what had come before that they struck me more as an attempt to tick a box on a check-list of features to be included. Perhaps I missed the artistic significance of such a jarring change but I think it far more likely that it is simply yet another symptom of Mass Effect's developers concerning themselves far too much with where their plot is going and ignoring from where it has come.

Destination: bums on seats.

My Shepard is getting a scar makeover and I love it. Have a few little problems, but I reserve judgment for the actual game.

I will play this game, make love to this game, then cuddle afterwards.

That is all.

I wish I was ME 2.... :(
