Sam & Max: Special Edition?

Recommended Posts

Is it too soon to start speculating? It certainly seems in the realm of plausibility now that Telltale and LucasArts have proven to be on friendly terms. It'd be nice to see a cleaned up version that could run on modern computers, but I'm not necessarily sure I'd like to see it given the Monkey Island treatment.

What do you guys think?

Why didn't this come up as a new unread post for me. :(

I miss you guys. (Except Bryan and his dirty mug.)

And I would love a remake, but they would have to rescan the original backgrounds and hopefully get Steve Purcell or someone who can draw very much like Steve Purcell to redo the characters.

They've already got 5 audio tracks done!

I don't know...Sam and Max is one of those games that I think the gritty pixelated graphics work a lot better and I think they add to the overall comedic value.

That doesn't make any sense. There is no comedy gleaned from the pixels.

Are you saying the comic was not funny because every page was not pixelated?

Sean! You should scan all the pages of the comic and make them pixelated!

And I think a re-release of Hit the Road would find a much greater audience with updated, or at least smoothed graphics. I think the rough look of the game would probably turn a lot of people off, especially if they're going to be downloading it for the 360 and playing it on an HD TV.
