To sell or not to sell (Wii)

Recommended Posts

I never bought a Wii. Maybe if I could get a deal on it and buy all the metroid games w/ the last 2 installments of smash bro's, I'd be okay with that.

(I know, Lynk, shame on me. How could I *dare* call myself a fully fledged Metroid fan?! The inane nuttery! :p)

I still have my NES lol, with working gun for Duck Hunt hahah, keep em bud.

Seconded. I actually have 8 NES units I've collected over the years.

I actually use http://www.NESrepairshop.com for all you would ever need to restoring you baby to its old school glory.

Yeah, I'd say keep 'em.

Also, there are around the same number of dungeons in OoT and TP and the events in between dungeons is a non-issue since it varies between the dungeons/events and game.

In Twilight Princess, you have to do one event before moving on to the next dungeon. An, example would be the part when your escorting ilia and Telma across the field of Hyrule while avoiding some enemies. I don't remember encounter such an event in Ocarina.

If you actually look at Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask... OoT is the one that's half baked since it began its life as a remake of A Link to the Past. With Majora's Mask they had to go in and practically reinvent everything and flesh out all of the NPCs a hell of a lot more than they ever did in any previous Zelda game.

I know OOT started life as a LTTP remake, but it never ended up being that in the final product. Also, I do agree with you on how they made the NPC's more smarter then in Ocarina, but if you exclude that, its basically the same as Ocarina. But who cares right? Why fix something that isn't broke?

They won't be remaking it (because it doesn't need to be remade, it still looks damn sexy even today), but there's a Wii version of The Wind Waker coming out soon which is a port of the GCN version with Wii controls and 16:9.

Link... please. :p

And this will sound off topic, but are you going to get The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks?

That's probably cause they ripped that straight out of Majora's Mask lol.

But in terms of events leading up to other events, wouldn't rescuing Epona from Romani Ranch count as such an event? And also racing Dampe in the graveyard was also such an event as well as the mini quest in the well in Kakariko Village. Want more examples? I have plenty...

Actually if you take a look at the game structure of ALttP and OoT, they're strikingly similar.... for example the 3 dungeons to begin with, then the master sword then doing the next 8 temples... the game is more ALttP than a lot of people realise. Majora's Mask on the other hand, while using an upgraded version of the OoT engine was an entirely new concept that hadn't been done before with a Zelda game and in that respect was built from scratch. The gampley mechanics as well as the type of story were all very new.

Link... please. :p

... one sec... damn, I was sure there was a Japanese release announced awhile back but apparently not *thinks* I'm gonna have to look it up when I get home cause I'm at work right now.

Yup.

Didn't they fix the motion sensitivity? I heard that on the radio a few weeks back.
Fix? It was never broken. They did create a new peripheral called Motion Plus, which attaches to the bottom of the Wii Remote and uses accelerometers to give more of a 1:1 motion tracking accuracy.

Oh. The motion plus is what he was talking about. I guess he just called it broken because he sucked at it.
