What is the Danger of a PC burn out, since i blame the Games for having Blue Screen Errors and Crashes so many times. I also bought a 260 Graphics Card witch seems to help and Stable my Games even better and i also have a Cooling System aswell. There is no hole at the back of the Cupboard for the Air to go out, so the hot air is just swirling around. Astrotoy7 Posted November 20, 2009 Share Posted November 20, 2009 A card like the 260, even in a more spacious case simply MUST have somewhere to vent that heat. That space behind your pc in the cupboard does not look healthy. Do you monitor system temps during gaming ?? What do you get?? I must admit, Ive never seen a gaming pc in a cupboard, home/media server rigs, sure - but nothing with a high end/high heat producing GPU in it. mtfbwya Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ForeverNight Posted November 20, 2009 Share Posted November 20, 2009 Yeah, that was my first thought... I'm also not liking that case. I have a Storm Scout like this. Cut my CPU temps down from 54 C to 42 C (After running KotOR for ~2 hours); Allowed me to overclock my proc up from 1.8 to 2.07. Failing a new case, get a new area for the Computer to be in. Like Astro said, there's not enough area for the heat to disperse so it just stays there. If I were to suggest something I'd say an open desk with a spot for a computer, that's exposed! Those heat vents just won't cut it. Otherwise... maybe check your RAM? I've had problems with RAM causing my comp to crash after a bit of gaming... but that's not my idea of what's the issue. Otherwise, do you have your proc overclocked at all? Or the graphics card? I must say that I'm not liking those GPU temps one bit, what type of ventilation does your current case have? Those pics don't give a good look at it and what I do see is unventilated. But, thanks for the images anyway! Edit: found this while on a quick search of what the safe Northbridge temps are. It looks like you want to cool it down by about 32 degrees or so. I don't know if that's the issue, but it could be a huge part of it. Edit 2: Your southbridge temps are okay though, so I'm going to point towards your Northbridge and GPU temps as the culprits.... but I can't think of any good ways to cool them down off the top of my head aside from after market coolers and, maybe, a new case. Those Screens were from during Game Play, the Latest if you will and i dont have Batman Arkham Asylum nomore since it gives me Problems with Windows Live and a busted up Patch that Eidos keeps telling me its my PC when clearly its not. Yes, i want to Cool my PC waay down and im worried about playing Star Wars Force Unleashed Sith Edition in this Hot Room of mine with a Hotter PC.
