I've spent today with my family at the nearby Zoo, and not only was it a great way to spend an afternoon (despite the rain and cold), it was a chance for me to practice my skill with a camera (even if I did feel a slight masculine envy of the telescopic lenses that some people were sporting compared to my small digital camera ).

Anyway, i'm no Jonathan Scott, but I think I managed to get some fairly good pictures:

One of four female Asian Elephants:

Anyway, now I’ve posted all of the pictures I have, feel free to discuss your own Zoo (or Safari) experiences, or post your own pictures (but please, if they’re large, post them in a spoiler).

Always a fun experience to visit the zoo, though I haven't been to one in around five years (the regional preference seems to be NASCAR over animals, but I digress). My favorite sites to visit were always tigers (not the lions, though; I never held them in as high a degree) and, though they may scare me, the snakes. :p

I live in San Diego, home to arguably the best 2 Zoos in the United States so yeah, its pretty damn fun to go to the zoo here. My favorite part of the San Diego Zoo are the Orangutans because you can sit there and do hand motions and such with them. Amazing creatures.

The Wild Animal Park is pretty awesome too with its mini-Africa area.
