Threepwood42 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 So for my 17th birthday my mom asked me what I wanted on my cake, and of course my response was "Steve Purcell's TMI cover art mom!" Then, my mom actually made the cake! So I thought I'd share it with you. All that was used was homemade frosting, no fondant or anything like that.
Aububuh Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 This is amazing, I want one. Is your mom a professional cake decorator, or is it just a hobby?
Threepwood42 Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 Just a hobby though we keep trying to convince her to do it professionally. Last year she made me a cake of Amazing Fantasy #15(the first comic ever to feature spiderman)

Gabez Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Awesome! How did she do it? All by eye, or was there an image project onto the top, or something? Both cakes are great but the detail on the Spiderman one is something else -- how can someone do all that text? Amazing.
Jeff Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Wow, those are both awesome, and I am slightly jealous. Happy birthday!
Edward van Helgen Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Those are awesome! My father makes some great cakes, but never with images on top. And I have to say, 12 cents isn't much for a cake like that
