"I am detecting a hull breach in the compartment that you left. Emergency bulkheads are activated but I am detecting critical areas. Some are not shutting."

"What do you want to do?"

"I think we should get the child back to the Hawk and than we'll try and come back for them." Alriana said quietly as she thought about Tavaryn and the predicament he was now in.

Hang on Tavaryn...she thought.

"Well, you created a hull breach. Now what?!" Xandros shouted over the rush of the escaping air. Varith smiled. "Now we move onto phase two of the plan!" The cathar shouted back as he used what little strength he had left to grip Tavaryn in the force and pull him towards them. He could see that both Tavaryn and Tyrannus were both slowly losing consciousness and that fit his plan just fine.

He watched as the bulkhead behind them began to slowly close the breach. He looked over at Xandros and motioned to Tavaryn. "When those two lose consciousness, be prepared to grab the Shinigami so we can escape. We can't beat the sith. Not here and not with our current strength." He shouted as the air continued to leave the chamber.

"Beach sixty percent sealed." The computer's voice echoed through the room.

Xandros looked down at Tavaryn. "Hold on Onashi! We've got a plan!" He shouted.

"I'm supposed to be strong. I just can't deal with all the deaths that are on my hands anymore."

"For every death you feel responsible for, there are countless more death that you prevented." Kol said to reassure the Admiral.

"I think I should tell you about what we found on Dagobah. It's not a concept non-Jedi are familiar with, but it could be the key to turning the tide in war without a single shot." He then suggested.

At that point, Komad joined the group in the War Room, greeting them with a bow.

"It was a device called a Force Relay, presumably one of many all over the galaxy. When placed at Force Nexuses, they form a network through which someone could manipulate the Force directly from a central point. Since the Sith captured Coruscant, that central point would most likely be the Jedi Temple." He continued.

I think we should get the child back to the Hawk and than we'll try and come back for them.

Jun-la nodded as she took in the Jedi's quiet countenance. She could tell that she was worried and no doubts to the reasons why. She looked up and said, "Tara, please continue."

"Proceed down corridor 32B for a hundred meters. Then left."

Jun-la marveled at how fast the AI managed to gain control of the station systems. She pulled out her comm as she led the way and said, "Andros, prepare the Hawk for take off and hover. Problems."

Copy that Master. Tara sent some warnings.

"She's always been one to prepare," Jun-la muttered as she grasped Alriana's hand in a knowing squeeze and led the way with the child in tow.

Hang on Tavaryn.

Tavaryn blinked. He was still dazed and his vision was blurry from blood loss. He managed to think humorous thoughts of what the CMO was going to say and not to mention the quartermaster when he brought his power suit back. He did feel a little at peace knowing that Alriana was all right. He sent back, For you I try harder moi chroi.

Hold on Onashi! We've got a plan!

Tavaryn looked up at Xandros and the Cathar. He really didn't blame the Cathar for his little stunt and the air breach. Seemed that parenthood could make people crazy and he figured he was in for an interesting ride when his was born. He looked at his feet to see Tyrannus still holding on and looking a little pale from air loss. Looking back up, he knew he would fight as hard as he could.

Nodding at Xandros, he reached up to his helmet and tapped it. He got a hold of Tara, "Tara, any plausible way to use the station's defenses to seal up the breach?"

What do you have in mind?

"An explosion or two to send debris and seal the breach."

You must be critical. I am detecting a breach in your suit and your vitals are slipping. This is crazy.

"Is there a way?"

Maybe. No Guarantees.

"Then we go for it."

You're crazy... It's why I love you. Sending plan info to your friends. Of course you should have a 'discussion' with the Cathar.

Tavaryn would have said something but he passed out. His grip was starting to loosen on the piping he was holding onto. His fingers slowly releasing themselves.

When placed at Force Nexuses, they form a network through which someone could manipulate the Force directly from a central point. Tariq listened to what the Jedi was saying and asked, "What could a Force User do with such a thing?"

What could a Force User do with such a thing?

"A better question would be what couldn't one do with it? They could kill with a thought, destroy the very idea of freedom, spread propaganda or truth to every single mind in an instant. Noone should have that kind of power, and anyone would fight tooth and against it." Komad explained.

"There's no way the Sith would let their non-Force Sensitive subordinates know about it." Kol elaborated.

Alriana smiled and continued following Jun-la. "I hope I made the right choice." She said quietly. "About coming back for them."

Xandros watched with worried eyes as Tavaryn seemed to pass out as the breach continued to close. "This is your plan?!" He shouted, "Let the air out and let the vacuum kill them both?!"

Varith shouted back. "Actually, no!" He shouted as he used the last of his strength in the force to accelerate the bulkhead's closure and it slammed into the wall with a resounding slam. "The plan was to weaken the Sith and than run like hell." He stated as he dropped to the floor and shook his head to get rid of the residual effects. He looked down at the Sith and saw that he was still conscious but clearly disoriented and off balance but he wouldn't remain that way for long.

The Cathar ran over to Tavaryn and picked him up and slung him over his shoulder. "Now we follow your friends and get out of here." He stated as he began to run along the route that Alriana and the others had taken. He motioned to Xandros.

"Hurry up! He won't be down for long!" He called as Xandros ran over to him and began to follow him.

Xandros turned around and used the force to slam the door to the compartment shut and than ignited his lightsaber and shorted out the door controls.

"Run!" Varith shouted as he began to move as fast as he could.

She turned to look at Komad as he entered.

Belina took a few deep breaths to try and calm herself down. "Is it possible we could turn the followers of the sith against them if we let them know what this is?" She asked. "And what are our chances of managing to stop this before they manage to activate it?"

Tavaryn couldn't hear much of anything since he was lightheaded from the lack of oxygen. He was thinking about the Cathar child and Alriana though; always the forefront of his mind. Absently he sent, Are you and the girl all right moi chroi?

He wasn't expecting an answer and it took a while for him to get oxygen and grow conscious. He looked around to find himself looking at the ground. He connected that to being carried and he started moving, "Wha..." He winced and grunted from the pain in his side and let out a loud grunt.

Jun-la followed Tara's instructions and they made it back to the Hawk. Tonatius and Kalla were there. She looked at Alriana and then at Tonatius. "Here, look after the girl. We'll be going back."

Master, I'm picking up unstable regions in the station. It's collapsing.

Jun-la could sense that and responded to her comm, "I know that Andros but we still have to get our people and the AI out. Plus there is the ship Lt. Onashi took." She was formal about it but it didn't mean that she was cold.

"I'll take it," Tonatius replied. He turned towards Kalla and gave her a kiss. "I'll hover along the outside and provide cover and escort."

"Good," Jun-la replied. She looked at the Cathar child but it looked like she was scared. She then looked at Alriana and suggested, "Perhaps you should talk to her."

"With all due respect to the Shinigami, I'd advise sending only one or two Jedi. They'd have an easier time navigating the Temple, time we can't afford to waste." Kol countered.

"We'd also need a way onto the planet. Freighters are too big to get through the fleet in orbit. We'd need something smaller, like an X-38, fitted with a cloaking device." Komad added.

Xandros continued following the Cathar dark jedi as he heard Onashi grunt. "Don't worry Onashi, we're heading for the Hawk right now. Just try and recover your strength before we get back to the Hawk."

Are you and the girl all right moi chroi?

We're at the Hawk right now. She sent back to Tavaryn. Just waiting on you and the others.

"Perhaps you should talk to her."

Alriana looked down at the cathar child and got down on one knee next to her and put a smile on her face. "Don't worry, as soon as the others get here we'll be getting out of here. You'll be safe with us on the Ackbar."

"Because before we do anything, we need to bring quite a few of the fleet's ships in for repairs. Hopefully my ambassador's will be returning soon, hopefully with reinforcements."

Tariq nodded in acknowledgement as he replied, "Not to be disrespectful to the Jedi Master Skywalker but it is my understanding that the Shinigami watch the Jedi. And if I'm not mistaken the LT knows the temple pretty well. Also the elder Starlighter knows as well if you want Jedi."

"Because before we do anything, we need to bring quite a few of the fleet's ships in for repairs. Hopefully my ambassador's will be returning soon, hopefully with reinforcements."

Tariq would have spoken but Scatty spoke up, "Admiral. In terms of the ships, we can outfit them with cloaking devices but you'd need someone who understands systems."

Tariq added, "We could use the Ackbar protocol and drop Alpha Team to cover the Jedi. Of course that means full on assault and I know we want secrecy for success but you know that LT developed that protocol. Just a suggestion ma'am."

Tavaryn blinked as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. He knew he was being carried and he heard Xandros. He managed to reply, "We need to get Tara back. Find computer with output."

Just waiting on you and the others.

Tavaryn heard Alriana and was relieved that she was all right. It didn't help that he felt like he was being carried like a sack of spare parts but he was too out of it since he was trying to recover the oxygen he had lost. He did manage to send, At least you are all right.

Don't worry, as soon as the others get here we'll be getting out of here. You'll be safe with us on the Ackbar.

Jun-la looked at the girl and then at Alriana. She said to the Jedi, "Perhaps you should get her strapped in. We may have to blast our way out of here."

Hangar bay defenses are online, Jedi Starlighter. There are troopers making their way to your position. I will use what I can.

Jun-la gave a slight eye roll, "I guess that may be sooner than I expected. You should get on board and make sure everything is ready to bust out." She flipped to her comm and spoke to Andros, "Andros, be ready to lift off. Charge up the quad lasers. Kalla, I could use your dead eye." She then turned to look at the door where they would be entering from. Her hand was on her lightsaber.

Belina thought for a moment. "If we can outfit the Ackbar with a cloaking device we could drop Alpha team and than bring the fleet in from the other side of Coruscant. I'm thinking, that if we bring in the fleet and finally destroy the Sith fleet around Coruscant we could send in troop transports and keep the sith busy. I'm not saying Alpha Team can't keep them covered but if we can provide another distraction it'll be one less obstacle facing them."

"We need to get Tara back. Find computer with output."

"Got it." Xandros replied as he began looking for a computer port. He saw a small bank of computers and ran over by one of them with an output.

"Okay. Just out of curiosity, how do we get her out of their computer system?" He asked as he heard the sound of metallic walls creaking. The station was starting to come apart.

"Perhaps you should get her strapped in. We may have to blast our way out of here."

Alriana nodded and began to strap the child into a seat. "We're going to get you out of here. Just stay calm." She said softly. "We never did get your name. Can you tell me what it is?"

The cathar child looked around in fear. "Velra. My name is Velra. Where are we going?"

Alriana smiled. "We're going to the Resistance Fleet. The Ackbar." She said calmly.

At least you are all right.

We have the child aboard the Hawk. She sent back. I'll be waiting for you with open arms.

Charge up the quad lasers. Kalla, I could use your dead eye.

"Read you loud and clear. Quad lasers are ready to fire." Kalla responded. She ran a quick calibration program on the laser's tracking and targeting system.

Okay. Just out of curiosity, how do we get her out of their computer system?

Tavaryn blinked a bit and gave a pat to the Cathar Jedi, "Put me down."

Tavaryn had heard Alriana's message and gave a slight smile. He winced as his feet touched and rubbed his side. It had stopped bleeding for the moment so it was okay. He gave a look of respect at the Cathar and walked over to the computer console. He took stock of the situation and knew they had to hurry. "Tara."

Tara appeared on the screen and gave a slight flirtatious grin, "You sure know how to keep a girl waiting Onashi."

"Status?"

"Station's defenses are active in the hangar bay. Sith troopers are heading that way. Structural integrity is dropping in more than 40% of all decks."

Tavaryn made a slight face. That was perfect. "Is there a console in the hangar bay?" He turned to explain to Xandros, "Tara has control of station functions. If I yank her now we might as well be toast."

"I already have the terminal ready. You just got to make it. Unfortunately structural collapse has occurred in the path the others have taken. Plotting alternate route and uploading."

A datapad popped out and Tavaryn took it. It plotted their route and looked there might be some climbing and other stuff involved. No rest for the weary. "Alright. I guess you'll be one step ahead of us?"

"Always LT. May the Force be with you." The AI looked at the three before disappearing.

Tavaryn sighed a bit more from the injury, "Alright. We better go."

****

The Sith troopers managed to open the door. They started filing in while shooting. Jun-la did what she could to deflect while taking a cover position. She would take down the ones that got past the guns and the hangar defenses which activated. She said, "Hangar has been breached Kalla. Take down what you can."

The comm when active, Hangar defenses are online.

"I see it, take cover!" Kalla called out, and then opened fire on the Sith soldiers pouring into the hangar. The power of the quad lasers would be enough to rip them apart, but instead, she opted to fire in their vicinity and ward them off, rather than kill them outright.

A large piece of debris followed by a large section of the ceiling collapsed behind them and Varith pointed forward. "Time to go. Now." He said.

Depending on what happens, I think the majority of the fleet should be held back while a small battle group keeps the sith in orbit busy. If things get bad, we can easily pull in the rest of the fleet. And there's no telling what will happen if they choose not to surrender. They may fight to the death.

Tariq had an idea of what that meant. He still had to do it even though the LT wasn't there. He said, "Alpha Team is at your services ma'am." he gave her a salute.

Station

Time to go. Now.

Tavaryn resisted heaving a sigh. He was injured and his armor was punctured. It would need to be repaired or something to patch it up just in case they lost pressure in the station. He nodded and said, "Follow the route Tara gave us."

It was slow going since they had to climb through debris. There was no other option and Tavaryn trusted Tara's judgment. She was made to compute probabilities and it seemed that she had a personality quirk that was unusual to AIs. He suspected that she was taking lessons from Belina and wouldn't be surprised if she did.

They made it until there was one thing standing in their way. It was a bulkhead that was fused shut. It connected them to the hangar and they could hear the quad lasers working. Tavaryn ran his hand on the door and said, "Tara."

The AI appeared on a nearby console, "LT you need to get to the ship. I don't know how much longer I can hold it."

"Got a problem. The bulkhead is sealed. Can you override?"

"Give me a minute." Tara worked and she frowned in frustration. "Damn. The line is cut and probably as a failsafe. Even if I could repair it the integrity won't last that long."

Tavaryn nodded and turned to look at his companions and asked, "Are any of you good at rigging explosives?"

Tara saw what he was getting at and said, "A well placed mine and remote triggered should be able to open it without causing unnecessary damage."

Tavaryn looked at his companions. He needed an answer.

Jun-la was deflecting Sith trooper blaster bolts and she could tell that Kalla was having fun in the turrets. They were going to be okay once they got everyone else. Andros could punch it and they would be on their way. She commed to Kalla, "I see you are having fun. Keep it up."

"Agreed." Belina said thoughtfully as one of the comn lines began to flash, showing that an incoming transmission was coming in.

"If you'll all excuse me for a moment. I have to answer this." She said as she gave a last look at Kol Skywalker before moving off to the far corner of the room.

"Alright. Do it. We'll cover."

Varith nodded and grabbed a thermal detonator from off his best and than another one. The second one was a bit smaller but it had the same explosive power.

He placed one of them at the top of the door on the left side and the second one at the bottom right hand side of the door. The blast would most likely destroy a good portion of the door, enough for them to get through.

"Fire in the hole." Varith shouted as he force jumped backwards.

Tavaryn backed up and turned to cover the flank. He felt like crap since he had his suit punctured and was sore all over. He just wanted to curl up in a bed and sleep. He ended up thinking that he was being a wussy for wanting that.

Fire in the hole!

Tavaryn raised his forearm to protect himself and braced for the explosion. He glanced at a panel and noted that Tara was doing her thing. The explosion went off and the bulkhead opened. Tara's voice was heard, "Successful breach. Station defense systems still active. You should be able to reach the Ebon Hawk."

"Thanks Tara," Tavaryn said. He looked at Xandros and the Cathar and nodded. He led the way down the corridor towards the hangar bay. Along the way he picked up Tara since the AI had the systems mostly under her control and they were almost there.

They made it to the entrance way when Tavaryn was suddenly flung off his feet and into a bulkhead. He could hear Tara saying something about his vitals and suit systems but couldn't focus. In his view was Tyrannus back again and he was looking at the trio saying, "Did you think you could get rid of me so easily?"

"Did you think you could get rid of me so easily?"

Varith turned and looked at the Ebon Hawk. He could feel his daughter's presence aboard the ship...and for a brief moment he felt the anger that seemed to have always been with him fade away.

It was replaced by a feeling of peace...and knowing that what he would do next would most likely not only save the life of his daughter, but those he had entrusted her to.

He grabbed Tavaryn's hand and pressed a small data-chip into his palm. "When you get home, show this holographic chip to my daughter. I hope it helps her."

Varith smiled sadly at the ship and than turned around to face Tyrannus. "Get to the ship...and tell my daughter and your mate that what I do...I'm doing for them. When you feel she's ready...tell her what I once was...and what I become once again at the end."

"Get your friend to the ship. I'll deal with this one."

Xandros's eyes widened in shock as Varith ignited his lightsaber and slowly advanced towards Tyrannus and looked up at the bulkhead door that was currently open. He brought his hands down in a fierce downward motion and the door closed behind him, separating Varith and Tyrannus from the rest of the group.

"I started on my path as a Jedi. I turned away from the light-side and became what I once swore to destroy...but here, at the end, I will be a Jedi once again!"

He unleashed a short burst of lightning at the door controls and snarled at Tyrannus.

"You won't escape this time. This time...you die." Varith snarled again as he slowly began to circle Tyrannus.

Tariq knew that the transmission was important and nodded. Besides his attention was turned to elsewhere and he pulled out the small communicator. He thought it was silly to do this in the beginning but it was proving useful now. He was once again humbled by the wisdom of his CO's thoughtfulness.

It was a data transmission from Tara, the AI that had been assigned to Alpha Team. Tavaryn had suggested that they have a backup means so if he was disabled, then the team could retrieve the AI. At this moment Tara was sending a transmission about Tavaryn's suit status. He said, "Alpha Leader's suit integrity has been compromised."

Tavaryn was trying to get to his feet but his injuries were starting to get to him. He was barely sitting up when he felt his hand being grabbed and the Cathar Jedi was pressing a data chip into his hand.

When you get home, show this holographic chip to my daughter. I hope it helps her.Get to the ship...and tell my daughter and your mate that what I do...I'm doing for them. When you feel she's ready...tell her what I once was...and what I become once again at the end.

Tavaryn couldn't help but nod. They may have fought and the Cathar may have nearly deep fried him once but he could sense that Varith was not motivated by anger or hate. He could sense the pure love for his daughter, the kind that only a father would have for his children. It filled him with a sense of love and happiness since he himself was going to be a father. He managed to breathe, "She will be loved with us."

Tavaryn watched as Varith went to face the mortal enemy of his family. He had every reason to want that scum dead as well but this wasn't his fight. It was Varith's; a fight for the soul and redemption.

Get your friend to the ship. I'll deal with this one.

Tavaryn clenched the data chip in his hand as he watched the bulkhead slide shut. He would keep his promise. He tried to stand up but his legs were giving out. He was stubborn though and tried using the bulkhead to help. Somberly he gestured towards Xandros, "We need to go. It's his battle."

Tyrannus was a survivor. That was what he did if only to extract the revenge that was long sought after of the line of the Heart of the Guardian. He almost had done it with the youngest of the Starlighters but now he was faced with an old friend. He looked at the Cathar.

You won't escape this time. This time...you die.

Tyrannus chuckled, "You are most certainly welcome to try old friend." He brought up his lightsaber and went into a position to prepare to attack. Suddenly he lunged at the Cathar.

A/N: I know I've been pretty much a ghost here but I am back again. Hopefully I can stay longer.

Ackbar

"Alpha Leader's suit integrity has been compromised."

Belina looked over at Tariq as she headed over to the communications holocomn. "Is it possible we can get a team to their location? I'm sure I can spare a ship. Possibly a frigate."

She reached the corner and smiled as the image of an armored warrior appeared above the holocomn. "Admiral. I have spoken with my government. We stand ready to assist. And you will speak to your government?"

"I will. And I think I can guarantee full contracts with the Resistance. Access to the specified uninhabited worlds in our agreement and I assume your Government has agreed to the last request?"

"Yes. The Mandalorians and Galactic Alliance will assist one another in times in crisis in accordance with the Ackbar Treaty. As long as the treaty is honored, you can count on us to assist in anyway possible."

"Excellent." Belina grinned. "Stand by to rendezvous with the Third Fleet in the Lakaris sector. Belina out."

Station

"We need to go. It's his battle.

"I...understand." Xandros said quietly as the door slammed shut separating the group of them from Varith and Tyrannus. "Let's get aboard the Hawk and get out of here." He said as he pulled Tavaryn up and supported him as best as he could as they limped towards the Hawk.

"You are most certainly welcome to try old friend."

"She will be loved with us."

"I will hold you to that." Varith muttered to himself as the door closed.

"Friends? Never. A means to an end? Yes." Varith snarled as he avoided the sudden lunge and unleashed a stream of lightning as Tyrannus with one hand while launching another stream of lightning at a power conduit.

Tariq looked at the admiral and replied, "Alpha team is on standby ma'am. We just need a means of getting there. And I believe that the Ebon Hawk is still on location. Perhaps we should check in with the Jedi."

Station

"Let's get aboard the Hawk and get out of here." He said as he pulled Tavaryn up and supported him as best as he could as they limped towards the Hawk.

Tavaryn did his best to try and stand on his own but it was getting difficult. He could only imagine what Alriana was going to say and he didn't want to worry her more than necessary. He limped along with Xandros helping him and he said, "We need to pick up Tara before boarding."

Jun-la looked at the hangar bay. They had managed to disable the stations defenses so they could make a clean getaway. She looked at Alriana who looked anxious. She said, "They're on their way. I know it."

Tyrannus managed to avoid the lightning by jumping aside but when he whirled he saw what the Cathar Jedi was up to. He shouted, "What are you doing?!"

Belina looked over at him and nodded. "I think your right." She said as she opened a channel to the bridge.

"Open a channel to the Ebon Hawk as soon as possible." She instructed the comn officer who immediately began attempting to track the Hawk's transponder signature."

"Channel open, Admiral."

Belina spoke as clearly as she could. She could hear static in the transmission which meant that it wasn't the best connection.

"Ebon Hawk, this is Admiral Belina aboard the Ackbar. What is your status?"

Station

"We need to pick up Tara before boarding."

"Leave it to me." Xandros replied as they finally managed to reach the Hawk and he let Tavaryn grasp the ramp leading up into the Hawk. "I'll be right back." He said as he headed back down the corridor and after a few moments of searching he found the AI and grabbed the data-chip containing her and began running back towards the ship.

"They're on their way. I know it."

"Good to hear." Alriana replied anxiously. "We need to get out of here. The station has taken severe structural damage. We need to leave before it collapses."

"What are you doing?!"

Varith smiled sadly. In this brief moment before his death, he was at peace. His daughter would be safe. And he no longer would be what he had once sworn to destroy. "Making sure they can get away. I can't beat you one on one. But as I said to the Shinigami: I am very good with explosives."

Just as Varith hit the power conduit with the force lightning, he unleashed another stream of lightning at a plasma conduit.

Goodbye Velra. He thought as the white-hot explosions of the plasma conduit and the power conduit tore through the room and engulfed the two of them.
