Let's Kill Something as a Guild.

Recommended Posts

Alright I know most of our Officers are busy with Ops with Casual Alliance and HMFP and Dailies with our level 50s but we now have a number of toons at mid to high level and I believe it is time we do something as a guild...

The easiest thing would be a low to midlevel World Boss, I'm thinking Taris or Nar Shadda (neither are that difficult), but I'm open to suggestions. I would rather go as my Shadow, but I'm willing to go as a healer.

BongoBob, Lynk and I killed the WB on Quesh the other morning and it was a total blast. Mainly because Lynk let Brem fight between heals. :xp: However if we get a decent group and I play as Brem I promise just to heal and stun....

So who would like to tackle a WB? Pretty sure we can bribe Lynk into being our meat shield, so it would be relatively safe (as long as you don't stand to close to him) and it could net you some decent gear as you level up.

I'm up for killing any world boss you guys want to target. Just name a time and a place on a weekend date (since I'm mostly unavailable on weekdays) and I can tank with my Vanguard for you guys. Alternatively, it may be possible to get Mav to use his Jedi Shadow, Kage (lol get it?) to Tank for you if you can't find me around.

As for a list of possible targets... here you go:

Note that on the Imperial side I'm rolling a Sith Marauder so I can't tank on that side. For now, I'm only available to tank on the Republic side only.

If you’re interested, list a time and which boss you want to kill.

Some of the lower level to midlevel bosses we could take even if there are only three of us. I just think it would be more fun with a larger group. Even if you think you’re not that great…Lynk will be taking most of the damage and he is that good and I will be there to heal you if you do get a boo boo. I can even bring one person per fight back from the dead. :xp:

I'm up for it. I'm a level 42, almost 43 and am now on Hoth, so anything before that should be fine (or on Hoth itself, as well). Weekends would be best for me, too. Not going to give a specific time, my weekend schedule's pretty flexible at this moment, so whatever you choose, there's a good chance I can be there.

I am game, if a level 32 almost 33 can join..happy to help out, those bosses look scary. Post a time or grab me when i am in...

as for the piiiink speeder i am sure my Companion Kira would love it, and I dont mind if she is happy my life is much easier :) she had developed a habit of taunting all the baddies and i have my hand full as it is.

Countdown Clock

We are going to kill our first boss 05/05/2012 at 9:00 am U.S. Central Time.

We will start with the one on Coruscant and work our way up from there. So this is a WB killing spree, not just some random isolated violence.

I will go check if the world boss is alive, if it is there that will be the one we start with. Some of the later ones may require lower leveled characters to be escorted to them, but the upper level toons will escort you to the site.

I will say, if you don’t have a speeder Coruscant, Nar Shadda and Taris may be the only planets you have access to (and only if you have already been to those places), but please come for Coruscant at least. There will be punch and cookies served.

The objective is to have fun. There will be no judgment here (except if the main healer and tank don’t do their jobs (not worried about the tank)). Come for one WB or come for as many as we have time to do, but have fun. I really want to see the toons of the people I’ve been talking to in guild chat and watched as they traveling from planet to planet leveling through the story. Let’s show the galaxy that the TWC are a force to be reckoned with and have a little fun in the process.

Everyone’s welcomed, and you never know you may get some tips that you can use as you level up.

Oh, for those that don't know - I'm going to post this now. We will not have many rules, but the one rule is no one attacks until Lynk gives the order. It will make his and my job easier (our job is to keep the lower level toons alive).

We'll give instructions on the day, just head to Coruscant and wait outside of the space port, we'll then group and you'll be able to see the blips of other group members on the map as purple icons representing people. We'll also give instructions in the chat of how to get to places.

OK, ys i have grouped before and know about the purple indicatiors and I have done all of the missions on Coruscant except for a few of the Heroic ones so just will need to know where to find the boss will stand by for instructions..i am guessing the boss is in the Works but that is just a guess :)

CrisG the basic instructions are:

Lynk is the Tank, we don't attack until he has aggro. So wait to attack until Lynk says so, or you see one of the higher character (hopefully level 50 toons attack, if I were you and Jeff is there, I would watch him. Jeff and Lynk have done many Hard Mode Ops and Flashpoints together, so Jeff will know when to attack). Do not watch Brem (me) she will not be attacking at all.

Next stay away from Lynk or you will get hit with splash damage and die. Watch what Lynk orders before the fight begins and do that. Usually that will be getting behind the WB and then hitting it as hard and fast as you can. Using all your cool downs to used your most powerful attacks as often as possible.

If something happens in the battle and you get knocked back, use whatever means possible to get back on the WB as fast as possible. Two reason,

1. Your job is to damage the boss

2. You need to be in my range so that I can heal you. I will not leave the range of our Tank or level 50 DPS to heal anyone. So you will have to get within my range. Early bosses this will not be that big a deal, but it is good practice if we keep good habits for the later WBs. Which means the Tank will be my number #1 priority, followed by those that cause the most damage.

Some of these WBs have one hit kills. So if lower levels dies (depending on which planet we are on) stay put. I have no cool down on my out of combat resurrect and I have 1 in combat resurrect per battle. I also have the power to get out of combat during the battle, but I will only do so if no one is in danger of death. Hope there are other scoundrels or shadows around that can also do this.

No use you going back to the med center and running back if you require a higher level to escort you to the battle. Again, not a big deal for most of us until we get a planet where the local mobs are a higher level than your toon.

If you see the WB throw an AOE on the ground around you, run out of it. If you have a target on you run away from other guild members. You are going to be hit, please try your best not to let splash damage also hit your guildmates, but as soon as you are hit, run back to the battle. Remember your #1 job is to damage the boss as much and as fast as possible.

My advice is to be on your ship until we know which boss is living. Coruscant is our first target, but if he is already dead, we will have to go to Taris first and so on. We are placing other members of the TWC and IM at boss locations to verify that the boss is alive or not. So don’t be surprised if Lynk and Brem sign out every once in awhile between battles. We are not quitting, we are signing into one of our alts checking on the next world boss.

thanks Mim, and thanks for the help last night with that ship board battle, much appreciate the chance to proceed with my main quest.....

I also appreciate the tips and suggestions, much of that makes sense and fits with what I am already doing, Last night you said at first you were going to hold back and let me do the attacking and then you said that i had attacked too soon....which made me a bit confused..but i will follow these guidelines as they all makes sense. I think one thing i have been doing wrong is getting too close to the enemy when my companion is attacking and thus i get hit by what you call splash effect, i just started thinking about this yesterday as there are three Sith Apprentices I have not been able to kill yet in Nar Shaddaa in the mission called Inspection, and I have been trying to figure out why..and i think it is the splash effect, i will try some other methods...part of the problem is that they are located close to walls or crates and it is hard to get around behind them...i may try to draw them out first....will see. but thanks and i am looking forward to the Guild battle on the weekend. I will, as usual, do my best :)

Ooh! I'm definitely up for this! Especially ever since that nasty Trapjaw on Tatooine tricked me with his 'suspicious' dummy bait the first time I stumbled upon it. Think I lasted like 2 seconds. Maybe three. Definitely long enough for me to shout out some choice words and get a strange look from the spouse on the other side of the room. :) When we kill him, I'm dancing on his scaly corpse!

So, I'll be there. Think 9 CT is 3pm BST (British Summer Time) but just in case my math is bad, I'll be on a bit earlier. :)

It got me that way too. :xp:

Thanks, Mim. I feel better now knowing that I wasn't the only one who got suckered. :) I'm much wiser now. If something says it's 'suspicious' or 'appears dangerous' or it's 'unusual'... I make sure I have room to run after I touch it. :p

Not me. I'm just too curious. "I've got to know"

Well since I'll be there, I'll end up generating the most threat since my current skill tree requires me to remain in my tanking stance to get any real damage out... but generally I'll be DPSing as well, it's just that there's no point other people tanking if I'm there cause I'll keep on pulling the threat off of whoever...

Of course, only reason that'd happen is cause my toon is a hell of a lot more geared than the other tanks in the guild... and I'm lv50 XD

Yeah, everyone will be DPS except Lynk. As to other healers, it depends how many guild members and how many healers show up, but on the early ones at least they should be allowed to DPS or Heal, their choice, but while DPSing keep one eye on everyone's health (just in case). Except for me, I am just going to heal with the understanding the next time we do something like this I get to DPS (hopefully with my Shadow).

Not going to promise not to at least get one dirty kick in. :dev14:
