The Activision and Raven Software game studios have open-sourced two of their games for "for people to learn from and play with" the code.

The source code to the games Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy are now open-source and hosted on SourceForge.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast is a 2002 title that features single player and multi-player modes for the Star Wars themed third-person action game. The game is powered by the Quake III: Team Arena engine with customizations done by Raven Software.

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a third-person shooter game from 2003 that is also powered by the Quake III engine.

The source-code to these two Star Wars games from the last decade have been opened up under the GPLv2. The code is available on SourceForge via jedioutcast and jediacademy. The open-sourcing of these games happened on Wednesday and coincidentally, Disney on the same day shutdown LucasArts that was involved with these two Star Wars games.
