Last night it started with rain, then it started snowing, and raining. Over the course of the night the wet slop froze and was covered with snow.

Welcome to Wisconsin spring. Hopfully i will be able to get some of the driveway and sidewalk cleared without having to resort to waiting for salt to break up some of the ice

Ski weekend time. I figure the best possible outcome for this trip is that I break every bone in my body, and during my long recovery in the hospital a beautiful nurse falls in love with me due to the Florence Nightingale effect. I mean, I guess I COULD just meet someone at the ski resort and skip all of the agonizing pain of breaking all my bones, but previous experience tells me this is not likely.

It's cold and rainy here in Rochester.

It's like freezing rain.... so I fear an Ice Storm is coming to our area.

The Polar Vortex is supposed to return this week... and this time... IT'S BIGGER and COLDER than before!

Seriously though... you're gonna be in a skating rink.

yeah i waited 30 minutes for a bus in the rain today only to have it completely ignore me and keep going. i was so mad because in that 30 minutes of waiting i could've been home. i got so angry that i actually contemplated waiting for it to come back around so i could jump in front of it and start **** with the driver...i wouldn't have been as angry if i hadn't decided to wait for it. the rain, iced over neglected sidewalks and 3" puddles didn't help me calm down either. and it also didn't help that i have a ****ing cold.

but whatever, TGIFF.

People don't understand how cool curling is. For $55 i enter into a bonspiel, which is a curling tournement where we get three games guarantee(about 2 hours per game). Also i get Friday supper, Friday snacks, Saturday Morning breakfast, Saturday lunch, a bunch of coupons for local bars to do a "Bar Crawl", Saturday dinner. AND if i win my three games i come back sunday for breakfast and left over lunch.

We win our first game on Friday at about 9pm. Our next game isn't until 1130am Saturday. So we sit at a table with our opponents and the liquor flows. Our opponent brings two bottles of liquor. We have free beer, Free snacks. SOme shot girls come around and over the course of the evening i have about three shots. Also we have a raffle and i win (cost me a total of $5 in raffle tickets) a bottle of rum with some good friends who enjoy curling.

I finally sober up enough to get home at 2am in the morning

Not to mention i have a hat I won along with my raffle, which the shot girl wore. I am saving the scent and extracting some DNA so I can clone her and she will be mine! :)

looking at 2 places to take karate classes...i just went and bought a TON of food, first time i ever bought raw chicken breasts, got that stocked up in the freezer, plus i got a **** ton of vegetables like a damn good supply of them steamed/frozen and canned. getting back a ton of money from my taxes...really want to start working out and getting back into shape and getting over the lame bar scene. got in touch with a promising karate place...adult lessons are monday-thursday 7:30-8:30 only downfall is it's 2 miles away to walk to. going to scout it out on foot tomorrow and check out the surroundings.

Frozen vegetables are great. Chicken breasts are super simple to prepare. best thing is to use a marinade with the chicken over night before you cook it.

For me my team lost it's 2nd and 3rd game and were out of the tourny. met a lot of good friends and had a good time. one of our players got tanked, to the point he could barely stand up. Thankfully we had a designated driver for him.

But, the skip invited me to play in Bemidji, MN for another Bonspiel. This is the home of Pete Fenson, who was the 2006 Olympic Bronze medal winner.

just got back from a 4 mile walk, decided to take my dog with me. longest i've walked him in a while, and considering i'm going to casino tonight, at least he'll be too tired to get upset that im away. :) on the way back we did some interval runs. much nicer spot to run, it's straight forward, not much ice on the ground, that'll be my new spot to run since it's right there (1/2 mile away) and i won't have to rely on a bus to get me there.
