Star Wars comics license moves to Marvel, Dark Horse's series to end in 2015

I suppose, but those are hardly the only two options they had.

 

Why would they pay Dark Horse to publish comics when they have their own publishing house at Marvel?

 

Of course it's sad to see this partnership disappear, but it was only a matter of time ever since Disney's acquisition.

For the same reason that Disney is outsourcing Star Wars games to EA instead having Disney Interactive Studios do all of them. Unlikely as that would have been, I know.

 

Of course, I agree, this was inevitable.

Not comparable. Disney Interactive Studios is a publisher, not a developer house.

 

They essentially are. Disney Interactive Studios currently owns three developers, and at the time of Star Wars' acquisition owned four. Sure, EA owns more, but its essentially the same scenario.

 

Not to mention that a publisher is all Marvel is as well.
