Suuuhhhwweeeeett..... but what's that "HDD 7200Rpm with Twin Processor" bit??? I've never heard of it

Nice sound you've got there :)

Mine's SPDIF'ed into my HiFi (speakers either side of my monitor).

I want a 21inch monitor too... but my dad's too damn tight! He reckons my 17inch one is more than enough... what is he on??!!? (j/k, I suppose ;))

His parents are far worse tho... thay're practically millionaires (n/k), and tighter than Monty Burns!!!

Ahh well, never mind, there's always xmas :D :D

Why don't we all get a 60' Plasma Projection TV as our monitor then get a TV-Tuner card?

256mb Ram

ATI Radeon 8500

40gb hd space

60x CD-ROM

Zip Drive

anyway i hope there's an option for how long it stays.

8 FANS?! You must be some serious overclocker...

I got 6 fans total in my computer (1 on CPU, 1 on the GeForce II, 1 on Northbridge I think [the one with VIA icon on it] , 2 Chassis case fan, 1 Power supply fan)

This is what happens if you don't have ENOUGH fans...

Why not use your CPU heat to do something useful...like:

How is that Radeon8500 doing with other games? Is it better than the original Radeon? ****, I sure hope so, a total of two or three of my 40 games or so ran with the original Radeon so I got a GF2 GTS. Ahh! :p:cool::D:o:);)

A normal Hard Disk has one processor. But I paid loads extra so I have two that work in parallel which means it can transfer data at twice the normal speed......Hell, I rarely get to see loading screens with my PC.......lol........and I only upgraded it for JK2 :)

i just purchased a new comp 6 months ago but I only purchased 128 mb of ram :( Its been years since I've bought additional ram and I have no clue as to how to shop for it. Can anyone give me a link or some suggestions as to what I need to look for? I realize that memory comes in various forms these days, but i dont even know how to check what TYPE of ram I have!

Here goes:

Primary Machine

1.333 ghz AMD Athlon Thunderbird

MSI K7T Turbo

630 mb of ram

ATI Radeon 8500(runs all my games lightning quick, with everything full on)

17' Sony Trinitron monitor(max res 2048x1536)

15' Compaq monitor(max res 1024x768)

Creative Ovation DVD

Creative CDRW 12x10x32

Maxtor 20 gb harddrive(next upgrade)

Headphones(my comp is in "family space" so I prefer privacy over quality)

Windows XP

Secondary Machine(family machine)

800 mhz celeron

MBI(compusa) motherboard

64 mb ram

Hercules 3d prophet II MX

17' no name monitor

Creative CDRW 8x4x32

No name 4 gb harddrive

Crappy speakers

Windows XP

Tertiary(Thanks Canoli)Machine

Old HP all no name parts

Pentium 233 mhz

600 mb harddrive space

32 mb ram

linux slackware 8.0

^

This is the comp that serve the ep2 trailers a while back.

Then their's my brother's comp...which is somewhere in between my Primary and Secondary.

Oh, and they're all on a 100 megabit lan sharing a cable connection.

This is why I upgraded for JK2.............

MY old system :

P2 233 o/c to 291 Mhz

4.2 GB HDD

24x CD Rom

Only 64MB...and NOT DDR Ram

Voodoo 3 3000 16Mb

Only 2 speakers !!

Now that is why I upgraded........oh yea, and because my Dad was paying and I caught him in a good mood........I also told him I needed it for work in college :p

I read in numerous places that the Athlon outperforms Pentiums.

That's price to performance. So a cheaper athlon will do better than an expensive P4. I don't have the numbers on hand though.

And Athlons an handle more instructions per clock cycle.

I upgraded not to long ago to an Intel P4 2.0 with 512 megs of PC800 memory. Videocard is a Geforce 3 ti 200 with 64 megs of ram. I find performance extremely fast and stable with the latest games and demos. I'm running at very high resolutions in 32bit color on a 19 inch Sony Trinitron monitor. Please remember when games and drivers take better advantage of the P4 instruction sets performance will increase even further.
