The Xbox is a powerful system, and just because a PC can be better doesn't mean mine is. Sheesh.

I duno about PC looking better...than xbox yet i dont want to judge xbox either. But after seeing DOA3 anything can happen. But i wll get it on XBOX because its main function is to play games so a console will always be better in my opinion.

Well let's see, the XBOX specs are as follows:

CPU: 733 MHz chip crafted by Intel

Graphics Processor: 250MHz custom chip named XGPU, developed by Microsoft and nVIDIA

Total Memory: The RAM in the Xbox will be supplied by Micron, it will be 64 MB running at 200MHz DDR (Double-Data-Rate)

Memory Bandwidth: 6.4 GB/sec

Polygon Performance: 125 M/sec

Sustained Polygon Performance: 100+ M/sec (transformed and lit polygons per second)

Micropolygons/particles per second: 125 M/sec

Particle Performance: 125 M/sec

Simultaneous Textures: 4

Pixel Fill Rate - No Texture: 4.0 G/Sec (anti-aliased)

Pixel Fill Rate - 1 Texture: 4.0 G/Sec (anti-aliased)

Compressed Textures: Yes (6:1)

Full Scene Anti-Alias: Yes

Micro Polygon Support: Yes

Storage Medium: 2-5x DVD, 10GB hard disk, 8MB memory card

I/0: 2-5x DVD, 10GB hard disk, 8MB memory card

Audio Channels:64 (up to 256 stereo voices)

3D Audio Support: Yes

MIDI DLS2 Support: Yes

AC3 Encoded Game Audio: Yes

Broadband Enabled: Yes

Modem Enabled: No

DVD Movie Playback: Remote control package required

Maximum Resolution: 1920x1080

Maximum Resolution (2x32bpp frame buffers +Z): 1920x1080

HDTV Support: Yes

Controller Ports: 4 USB Ports

My Computer at the moment :

Pentium III 601 Mhz processor(that is the way my computer reads it. Strange).

512MB SD RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 2MMX 64MB Video Card

Creative Labs Soundblaster Live Value 5.1 Sound Card.

40 GB Hard Drive

2 USB Ports

Fastlink Ethernet Adapter

DVD-ROM

CD-RW

So, it looks like overall my system is beneath the XBOX in terms of performance. The XBOX video card is a GeForce 3.

However, my Jedi Master system will be built this fall.:D

the xbox gpu is faster than a GeForce 3, and is somewhere between it and a GeForce 4...

plus, the fact that the xbox has an integrated driver/direct x system make it MUCH faster than any pc with much higher specs...

why ? because pcs have to be compatible with millions of possible components...

the pc's gpu talks though the driver with direct x, whcih contacts the game....

much slower...

Really?

You probably got a PS2 when it was first released. Many of the first 200,000 or so had some problems with crashing and overheating. They had solved these problems by the time the second shipment of consoles left the factory. The only problem I ever had with mine was a PS1 game, Metal Gear Solid locked up on me once. No other problems. No crashes or anything.

Also, aside from the comfort of your couch, many people such as my self have large screen HDTV's, which gives an excellent picture.

And I'd rather use a controller. :D

I too have a HDTV as well as a first class home theatre system with Dolby Digital encoding. Because of these feature my Xbox Far out weights my PC. The Xbox has been nothing short of pure gaming pleasure. THis system is finially going to make huge strides this Fall and KOTOR will be leading the way!
