Kryllith Posted September 5, 2002 Share Posted September 5, 2002 Yeah, I ignored the whole Evercrack, Ultima Online (even though I've been a fan of Ultima since Aklabeth)... basically the whole pay-to-play genre. If I want to pay to play, I'll go to the arcade. And for that matter, if they're going to charge us to play, then shouldn't charge $30-$60 just to get the software to begin with. Kryllith Posted September 6, 2002 Share Posted September 6, 2002 I know why it's expensive, but I also know that I'd rather spend my money on other things and spend my time playing MUDs since they are typically free and since I can contribute to building them myself instead of being reliant on the paid programmers. Of course, it's usually all text based, but coming for a back of offline-rpgs and infocom games, I've no problems with it. I'll probably take a shot at Galaxies for a little while anyway, the point-of-view and graphics on it are really nice compared to a lot of similar products...
