L3onheart Posted August 1, 2002 Share Posted August 1, 2002 Ok, so i only have RCON, and I don't have direct access to the machine I had to change the sv_hostname for a couple of hours then i wanted to change it back as it was, BUT it won't accept spaces. It was supposed to be FRAGLIDER.com - JK2 Pub - v1.04 But when i put that, it only stays FRAGLIDER.com, it won't allow spaces For now I have to relay on underscores ( _ ) to fill in for the spaces. MatrixCPA Posted August 2, 2002 Share Posted August 2, 2002 The console strips out quotes. That's also the reason it's impossible to kick players with spaces in their name without clientkick. I'd assume that the sv_hostname is set in the server.cfg (or whatever file was used). If that's the case, just /rcon rconpass exec server.cfg That will restart the server with whatever settings are present in the config...including the original sv_hostname. Enjoy. Dak_iSuk Posted August 5, 2002 Share Posted August 5, 2002 I donot know why, but I've found tht I can change my host name( spaces, colors, and all, with quotes), through RCON if i use SET inplace of SETA. of course I do have to go back and correct the server.cfg later, but it does work "on the fly".
