[...] what is the best cpu cooler money can buy (not including water cooled). They all seem the same to me?

Last time I looked, that would be the Swiftech MCX-462 (for Socket A, at least - it's the one I use :D), along with a high CFM 80mm fan, and properly-applied Arctic Silver 3 thermal grease... The heatsink is about 50 quid, though  ...Also, the mobo must have the screwholes for it... Check before you buy :) (Judging by the pic on Abit's site, the AT7 Max2 does have them...)

[...] and will pc2100 ram work on that motherboard?

Yes :)

If you do decide to get the Swiftech HS, I think the best place I found for it was Overclock.co.uk... Don't even recall finding it anywhere else, and I'm sure I looked...

HTH a little bit :)

why would you think that anybody here spends 4000$ on a comp? i cant really say about the others but i got this comp for free. cost me about 300$ to upgrade a bit and when the time comes ill sell it and get a new free comp. maybe some of the ppl here do graphic designing as their job and NEED top of the line equipment. dont judge until you know everything there is to know on each individual part of the subject *shakes fist*
