american cartoons stand no chance against japanimation the drawings suck there is no story and they have the same old jokes every episode (I do like simpsons though) where as anime has more of a real life drawing style and they have story lines in them. I think excel saga is much funnier then any american cartoon save the simpsons.

Actually the main ones I heard complained about are Pokemon, Digimon, BeyBlade, Yu-Gi-Oh, and DBZ.........

Pokemon, well I never seen the orignal, nor have I heard comments on the unedited version. Digimon's 3rd season was actually quite serious in the middle and end. Yu-Gi-Oh was heavily edited, they even took out an ENTIRE season for Pete's sake! BeyBlade, well I agree.....a show about a SPINNING TOP.......DBZ, well action over plot in this case and a bunch of screaming people....Also quite edited, especially in the beginning...(You can't say genocide in there anyway....)

Yeah, if you're talking about the heavily edited ones, I am more inclined to agree. However, the good animes uncensored, that'll I'll take over most anyday. (Except Simpsons, one of the only good American cartoons, up there with Spiderman.) Some Gundam series, most of them UC (Universal Century) are actually War Dramas (Except 0083, action oriented mostly.) Zeta Gundam, said to be released in the US, has a good balance of Action and drama I heard. It pretty much has a big fat death count in war, and shows both sides in it. The main character, a type that never dies in many shows, doesn't escape the war without a couple of tragics. His love(?) interest dies I think, and his brain is fried to a veggie. It's been said by Gundam fans that Gundam Wing falls below average compare to it, although it's alright in it's own right. One OVA mostly drama over action is Gundam 0080, showing characters from both sides and war horrors.

NOTE: I'm just basing it from what I heard over from the anime boards at Gamefaqs. (And dont buy too much hype from the UC fanatics......)

Hmmmmm, actually you just repeated a guy's observations in the anime boards. The ones shown in America are what he considers "stepping stones". If you are interested enough, you buy the other animes (or find info), therefore getting better (or worse, but it's wise to ask for recommendations) stuff than the ones shown here. Most people when they think of anime, it's either Pokemon or cartoon porn (hentai). We all know kids love action, hence the DBZ dub. Why do you think it's #1 on the DBZ action block, er Toonami...........

I watch anime all the time, from A-Z i've seen most of it.

i've seen all the DBZ and GT episodes before it came out here.

When Dragon Ball Z didn't come out in US yet i was a really big fan. but now it seems like it's getting played out and i lost interest because of it. i really like it when it was exclusive and no one knew about it.

Kenshin is my fav now.
