She writes because she loves to write, and she loves the story, not because she needs the money. I've waited almost 3 long years to read this book... I never had any doubts that she was going to write it, yet so many people prematurely jumped on the "she's rich, she's not finishing the series" bandwagon. I don't own the paperback copies). 950-1000 pages sounds about right. Just because you have money doesn't mean that you suddenly have super writing powers! I think that extra 400 pages justify a longer time to write it. She also got married and had another kid, I believe. I imagine she also wanted to take some time off... she had published one book a year from 1997 to 2000, which means she was doing a LOT of writing. That's the same rumor we've all heard (about the writer's block). Unless you know her personally, or there is an article where she admits it, I'll consider it just that - a rumor and nothing more.
