*puts hand over heart*

O! Say can you see by the dawn's early light? What so proudly we hailed at the twilights last gleaming. Who's broad stripes and bright stars through the paroulis fight. O're the ramparts we watched where so gallently streaming. And the rocket's red blare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag is still there. O say does that star spangled banner yet wave. O're the land of the free and the home of the brave?:)

Jackal, supporting your troops isnt against your political views even if you dislike war... and if you dislike war and then dont care there are people out defending your right to not like war, then you are a horribly sick person...

and it doesnt matter that you are from canada, as you owe your freedom to the same US and UK troops as they seem to be the only ones out defending freedom these days (not even the UN can act for freedom, only greed)

And its not about oil... and thats been proven since saddam shot scuds at us (varified by foxnews and cnn, probably aljazeera too)

Its alright to oppose war, but supporting troops and opposing war are two different things. Troops didnt start the war, so pictures of the military isnt supporting war, its supporting troops.

And troops are good. They are unselfish, and are fighting to preserve the rights and liberties of people in Iraq, Israel, the US, UK , France, Canada.... and humanity.

BTW they arent jokes meant in a mean way, the irish have some weird war customs though.... they like to wear kilts too, didnt they do that in the first gulf war?

Good going Xerxes. I have friends that are currently in Iraq and that are making there way to Baghadad. Also the guy that was doing the Kung Fu in the pictures is from the same town were my love lives.

It's good to see that our boys are doing well over there cause I am sick of watching the sky over Baghadad every night in green. I want to see the people that are actually partaking in the event and what they are doing. Awesome job Xerxes.

U.S. Army specialist Kenneth Christensen, from Santa Maria, California, practices Keichu Du, a martial art, as the sun sets in the desert.

"Oooo - look at me I'm in the middle of a desert practising my flying kicks"

"Did you get that? ....Oh, okay, lemme jump again. Be sure to get the sunset in the pic, you know, like...I'm the awesome Bruce Lee Kung-Fu lean mean killing machine, ok? Ok."

*jumps*

"Did you get that? No? Lens cap on? Ahh..damn. Ok, let's try that again.

*jumps*

"Got it? Great! Let me see! .... noo! U must take the pic at the moment when I really, really high up in the air! Let's try again. Are you ready? Ok: HERE COMES THE MIGHTY KUNG-FU MASTER WITH HIS SUPERSHADOWDESERTKICK!!1"

*jumps*

"Got it? Yes! Awesome! I'm the coolest guy ever! Look at my l337 keichu-dutz´u-whyoung-ryu-skillz!! ....what's that!? What did you say?!? Did U just call me a show off!?:confused:

There are two kinds of people. The other ones feel like throwing up whenever they see pictures like this. I'm one of those people.

But I am amazed of the fact that there is not a single US flag anywhere to be seen in those two pics!

what in gods name is your problem. Are you jealous or something??? A LOT of these pictures were taken in the week before any action was taken, the soldiers were doing a lot of pratice drills and other things to kill the time. I dont get why your upset about the pics...I respect that soldier for his dedication to his Keichu Du martial art, and if you cant respect him for that...I dont know.

My problem? >>

There's a war going on and this guy takes a crew of photographers, goes out in the desert and starts posing in various keichu-duicy-whatever-doo positions.

Yeah, the pics are cool. Sure, he might be good in whatever he does. He might even be the ultimate soldier, but that's not the point.

I have trained martial arts for more than a decade but if I ended up in the middle of a war, I would surely not go out in the desert with a bunch of photographers to "practise".

To me it seemed silly and inappropriate, thats all. No need to get hostile, XERXES. ;)

the soldiers do have a lot of free time, and there is a LOT of publisity in this war, unfortunately (too much i think)but you gotta take into account, this is before the actualy invasions took place.

A couple weeks ago i saw on the news a group of marines were interviewed while they were still in Kuait. They were all giving eachother haircuts (speaking of herr kuts, i got a buzz today, quarter inch...looks dead sexy :D ) and they all said they were just killing time in the afternoon because they had done all their duties.
