What I meant by "in a small way" was that you did not encounter them too soon, and then throughout the game. Maybe later on in the game when you uncover some big plot. Then the Imps can flow forth. It was great in JK1 when you heard the stormies talking then, Kyle says, "Stormtroopers!" That was a great moment, having not seen a single one up till that point.

 

Speaking of giving the darkside some sort of advantage, look at JK1 If you chose light side, you had a balance during saber boss fights. But you ended up not being as brutal during the levels. With darkside, you had somewhat tougher boss fights since no one could effectively defend against each other's force powers. In the regular levels you had a great advantage in dishing out death to the stormies. I thought that balance was kinda cool, and very Jedi/Sith like.

It wouldn't be Jedi Knight without Stormtroopers. A bonus would be to include Imperial Snow Troopers and Imperial Scout Troopers with or without Speeder Bikes. I hope they bring back Imperial Probe Droids, Imperial Officers, Navy Troopers, and maybe a AT-ST Walker. I sorta like the Dark Forces idea of having Darktroopers.

Of course I do.

 

I also think they should introduce an enemy called the "arrogant bystander". They see you whooping arse, they know you can whoop their arse, yet they still challenge you to a fight, and they always lose. Always.

 

That would be sweet. Just force push 'em around.

Hmm... YES thats great... I mean that it would at first seem that

imperium is gone and everything is about OK and you go and do

some "minor" stuff here and there and then sometime (about in

the middle of the game) you find some "indefinite" leads that

there is may be something relatively big going on and you get

order to go and investigate and you find out that there are

some "old imperial remnants" and they send some X-Wing squads and...

 

BUT then you find out that maybe it is not so small after all and

that there are hundreds of imperial star destroyer preparing for

launch and there are maybe millions of storm troopers or some

new clone troopers or ... and then you get spotted...

 

And after that point... you are no longer attacking

 

(AND game should have similar ending like EP2 (= you kind of

win but in the biger scale you lost.....)

 

And then maybe next game will continue from there...

I agree with you AJL... it would be sweet if they went with the Empire Strikes Back vibe and have a qasi-good ending with a touch of dread. ESB is the best Star Wars IMO (and many others), so why not have a similar feeling at the end of this game?

I would like it if some new new dark organization started to become a problem for the new republic (that just happens to have "guys with lightsabers" at their disposal), and that your sent to investigate. Then, after a while, you find out that this organization cooperates with the again growing empire and that a sinister plan is being put into action against the new republic.. or something of the kind.

 

That would be great IMO. :)

I like the progression of Sttormtroopers from DF ->JK -> JO in terms of models and AI. I would like to see them in JA. It will not, however, impact my decision to buy this game ... which I've already made (can I preorder?!?!). So long as I get a saber and force powers, I'll buy it ...

Hmm... but those saber guys should be "elite/leaders"...

 

Their real ARMIES should still be made of stormtroopers,

clonetroopers, some kind of battle droids and devices...

 

but this time it shouldn't be the best way to go that you

try to kill them all... or actually shouldn't be able to...

(there should be UNLIMITED amounts of them...)

Of course they should be elite, the "guys with lightsabers" wasnt meant serious. :)

 

Yup, unlimited amounts of good ol' stormies.... mmmm. Slicing thousands of stormie heads off... mmm

 

And I agree with you that it should end in a bit of a dark way. A defeat in the victory kinda... maybe your victorious, but then, in an end cutscene, you see... something threatening... cant come up with anything right now.

I meant it so that you should FEEL that the enemy is SUPERIOR

over you and that you have to be stealthy or the game is going

to get REALLY HARD but still even if you rush in it shouldn't just

trigger GAME OVER...

 

But instead those quards or what ever would make alarm and

the enemy would send those troopers (and every time you kill

one trooper they send two more...) so couldn't just kill them

all but you would have to hide/backoff/... (somehow make

them think that you are not there anymore...)

1. Game should end like EP2 (in small scale you win but in

big scale you are far from victory...)

Story example:

 

You get order to go to investigate some old imperial base

where is now some small activity and when you get there

you find out that everyone in there have been killed but

you find some "trace" and you follow that trace to some

other place and from there to some other place (things

keeps getting worse and worse all the time...)

 

Finally you find out what this is all about.... These bad guys

are building new space crafts even more powerfull than

Super Start destroyer and that they are also making some

battle droids or clone soldiers or...

 

(Soo then you inform your master and... soon you get

information that if this ship with its 10000 sondiers and

1000 tie fighters is complete it will mean the end of the

rebublic and rise of the new empire and bla bla bla...)

 

Soo then you have to try to sabotage this project but thing

go wrong and then your jedi friends come to help and then

you all sneak in to that ship and try to take it out....

 

But then you find out that this damn ship is not in really in

developement like you though... its just completed soo you

call the new rebublic to send its fleets to fight against

it and...

 

(and there are huge battle where lots of X-Wings and jedis

and your side troopers die but in the very end you barely

succeed to destroy the shield generators and new rebublic

destroys the ship... VICTORY!)

 

Game "complete" but... (now you find out about the truth

you see how hundreds.. maybe thousands of new superior

Hyper Super Stardestroyer take off from all planets around

you...) then yodas "ghost" comes and says: "the shroud

of the dark side has fallen. begun the Hyper Super

Stardestroyer war has..." :D

 

So... you "win" that first battle but in big scale... things are

now worse that ever...

Personally, I am tired of the stormtroopers. I want a new enemy, new storyline. I like the challenge.. I'd prefer every stormtrooper to be replaced by a Difficult Desann Clone. I want every enemy to seem like a boss... None of this shields stuff.. If I get shot or sabered, I want my character to feel it... Besides, why would a jedi need shields when he has a lightsaber... its like Hello, it technically IS a shield. I want the game to play more like a FPS like Rainbow Six, that if you are shot when holding a gun, you die, none of this 100% or 50% health... And if someone gets hit in the chest or higher, they die, no bringing health down to 33%, any way.. Like I said, I don't want stormtroopers in the game (AT ALL).. I want a new, stronger, better enemy.. Nothing like a 2yrd old could shoot up...

Whoa I just had an idea! Fighting stormtroopers on bikes! then you would find a bike and there could be a levle like that!

 

Hey maby on one levle you and an ally would have to gang up on an ATAT!

sry i'm getting a little off tipic but the fact remains i will be dissapointed if there are not imperials in JA. Bear this in bind Raven VERY VERY DISSAPOINTED!! ;)

I think stormtroopers are essestial to Jedi Academy. It wouldn't be a Jedi Knight game without them. I personally think an addition of Imperial Scout Troopers with speeder bikes. I want to be able to kill a Scout Trooper (ROTJ) and steal his bike and use it against the other imperial bad guys. I also think it would be cool to steal a AT-ST and AT-AT Walkers and use it against stormtroopers. Or to blow up a door to get into a base.
