I was thinking about this game last night. The new features sound great.

But it's still the same engine. Meaning more Pac-man mouth when speaking.

I know this is going to be a great game(because JK2 was) but even with all the new features I don't see it competing with KOTOR. Mainly because of the graphics engine.

When I say compete I don't mean sell. I think it will sell more than KOTOR because it's an action game. I mean the look and feel of the game.

Opinions...

I couldn't agree more. KOTOR is/will be far superior to JA in almost every way. There are a few differences, obviously......but the main one being no mp for Knights. I think people who enjoy an adventure will love this game (like I do)! :D

Those reasons right there are why this community is and will be a strong one. IMO this is one of the friendliest places on the LFN. I'm going to do what I can for it to continue to be that way.

I'm in agreement, too. I'll probably get JA, but I'll probably wait a while to see the price come down. KotoR I'm getting when it comes out.

KotoR looks more massive, I guess. A lot has obviously been done with the game, and it's just going to be terrific. (Besides, with a 56k, I usually don't do too much online playing.)

I guess you could look at it like that....now that I think about it. :) It's still going to get tons of people no matter what you call it.

But yes, it is Jedi Knight: Jedi Acadamy and not Jedi Knight 3. ;)

Right on, Leemu.

KoTOR and JA will satisfy my gaming needs almost completely. If I had to choose one though it would be Knights. I mean, come on, a Star Wars RPG. :p

This game has so many possibilities and options it blows my mind away. Not to mention the story should be top-notch.

And, yes, this is probabaly the most friendly place on the LFN.

All these nice people......

*runs to get a tissue*

:p

Now to JA though.

I think it should out-do JO just because of all the features, and everyone had little things they wanted fixed in JO and this game has the possibility to fix it.

And I also don't know many people that will still play the old when there is new to be played. ;)

That will come in 2 years or so :)

That's exactly what I was going to say;)JA is not the sequel to JKII, so you can't expect the world from it. It's not an add-on or an expansion: it's kinda like GTA London to GTA, if ya know what I mean (if you don't, don't ask, I can't be bothered to explain:plol). I don't really have any problems with the game engine at all: I mean JKII was built on the Quake 3 engine which had been in use for a while, and look how that turned out. The engine was pushed to it's very limits, and it could be done once again with JA.

That being said, after looking at the screenshots, I can't see a lot of visual improvement on JKII. I think the new gameplay features will be the main aspects shining through upon release. Anyway, IMO, judging a game by looks is a big mistake. I will be content with the create-a-character option alone (I can't wait to test that out ^^).

It is kinda bad though, suddenly announcing JA whilest everyone's been waiting eagerly for KOTOR; it's taken some of the limelight away, which is a shame, because I believe that KOTOR deserves all the attention. A lot of work has gone into this game, and it's pretty much been built from scratch, not based on some age-old engine that's been used many times. If I had to choose, KOTOR would be my option:)And I don't think I need to justify why to you guys;)

One way or another, everyone who enjoys star wars games will get what he likes in the next months...

I mean Galaxies, KOTOR, JA what more could you want? i can't wait for the E3 to know more about all of these new games.

I can't wait for E3 either! There's going to be lots of good information coming from there! :D I know some of the LFN administrators are planning on going as well! :)

I have a feeling Darky, that it will be the quality of the game that brings them back. ;)

Does that mean you are going to it, Leemu? :freakout:

When is E3 exactly though?

Oh, no way I'm going, don't get me wrong I'd love to go but.........I'm just a peon here, in the grand scheme of things. ;)

E3 is usually in May - unless they have changed it for some strange reason. *shrugs*

If YOU are a peon, what am I and the rest of us regular members? Mod peons? :eyeraise:

:p

Thanks for the info. I myself would also love to go, but I have a feeling it costs money. Just a guess.....:D

And I also just feel that it isn't at a place close to Oklahoma. :p

I'll still be getting both Jedi Academy and Knights Of The Old Republic. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, and I love a good RPG as much as a good FPS.

Best of both worlds, in my book. :)
