From what I understand the reason they didn't look at it was that they needed (or claimed they needed - I don't know a lot about data recovery :¬: ) the second HD in the RAID chain which wasn't sent to them. I think the real problem really was that they never contacted LFNetwork about that, and instead waited to be contacted. That was the latest I heard at least. :¬:

I know in global how RAID works, but if you format the drive(s) (like that guy there did), won't that erase all 3 disks?

Recovering data from RAID (if you still have 2 of the disks in tact) shouldn't be that hard, should it?

I thought that they send it to a recovery company that can read deleted contents from hard disks... Maybe they have sent (or should have sent) them 2 or 3 of the RAID disks to recover deleted content before they could reconstruct the data in full... That should be it... ;)

Oh, you shouldn't be too upset. It just show that we love AG more than some maybe potential game that might or not be an adventure game. ;)

As for me not getting the hots for LSL is probably because I never really got into those old Sierra games. It's sad, but that's the way it is.

okay then, here's my reaction to the Leisure Suit Larry news...

what on earth *could* they turn it into if it wasn't an adventure?

(hope it's not going to be another Larry's Casino / Nick's Picks kind of deal...)

initially i thought, how could they turn Larry into a fighting game? King's Quest and even Space Quest, I can understand how that would happen. but Larry? what would the premise be... drive around Lost Wages scoring with hookers then slapping them around before you kick them out of the car?

(oh wait a second, i think i've played this game already... grand theft something-or-other?)

don't know how to feel about a Larry game without Al Lowe. trying not to think about it until there's a lot more information to think about. (besides, i still have 5 larry games to play!) if they actually do an adventure though, with or without the original creator, that's an improvement.

:) emily (who got hooked on adventures in the 80s playing LSL1 with dad...)

haven't read that...

Good job Stinger....

I would really like a LSL, even without AL

Quite a shame...but we'll do our best to not hate the game before it's even announced.

(and this phraze can be used in many different situations ;) )

Isn't it obvious that the new LSL will be a tennis game? Larry playing (rather badly I'm afraid) against semi-nude babes (who also play rather badly). It's going to be a hit, I tell you.

Who needs tennis? Its gonna be tetris. Or socoban :)

Me too.

And as for Larry I've played every single Larry game and I don't really like the idea of a Larry game without Al Lowe, but on the other hand there's six Larry games out there already, which the development team can use as a platform (bad word, didn't come up with a better one) for their Larry game.

A good game can be made without Al, I'm sure, but that depends on the people working in the team and what orders they've got from Sierra.

Take CMI and EMI for example, the first one, in my opinion, a masterpiece, much because of Tim Schafer, the second one a good game but a disappointment for me and for many others. These two games were made with MI 1 and MI 2 as a platform and turned out great and fine respectively.

The problem, when it comes to the new Larry game, is that there's probably no one from the original Larry teams in this new team (I say probably because we can't know for certain at this point, can we?).

The people that worked on CMI and EMI were partly from the original teams and I guess that that helped a lot to make the games true to there predecessors.

As for the new Larry game being something else than an adventure, I don't think that that's likely, although weirder stuff has come from Sierra.

Is that good enough for you Stinger? ;)

That's Schafer to you, buddy! :p

Ok, Jonathan Ackley and Larry Ahern then. No one's perfect. Not even me! :D But that was just an example anyway, not so important.

P.S. I'm sure Tim Schafer had something to do with CMI though.

Something, but not a lot. He was credited with "additional design" or something similar to that, which in this case basically meant overseeing that the designers didn't do any major, crazy plot errors or whatever.
