I'm a lightsider. A lot of it is because senseless destruction never strikes me as "cool," and mostly just strikes me as "stupid."

The Rachtghoul serum? Why sell it to that jackass Davik? I can pick up 1000 credits playing Paazak, and thought the medtech was a jerk. The doc's helping dying Republic soldiers and seeking to make it accessible. That seems a lot more practical, especially with the amount of the frelling critters you and Carth have got to brawl to get to the Vulkar base.

Promised Land journals? Well, on the off chance the Outcasts made it, Taris will be theirs to rebuild! That so-called merchant wants to be the sad little king of his pathetic little hill. Again, I can get credits elsewhere.

I did get a Dark Side point when I nailed Starkiller in a brawl. I shrugged that off. The dude was a mad dog - he needed to be taken down.

Yes, it's still early in the game, but I just don't understand the appeal of acting like a total jerk. It's...well, it's incomprehensible.

BTW, I also play Black and White the same way. It's more practical to have lots of happy followers, IMO. To wreck houses and torture people just for "fun" is a waste of time for someone like me.

The Dark Side isn't FUN. We're not here for your amusment. Any Dark Jedi who joined the Sith for fun, is not a true Sith and should be exicuted.

Jesus, I'm taking this too siriously.

Greetz

Dark Side. Why? To show all those weak underlings their natural place....at your FEET! To threaten with death arrogant Sith and then Force Persuade guard's into arresting THEM! To show the true power of the dark side to the republic prisoner by choking him to DEATH! And of course, for the ending. It's good, really liked it, but....

**SPOILER**

...I was expecting more. C'mon, that 30(?) Sith soldiers + some officers that You see when officialy taking back your position don't exactly make an ARMY(!) worth of praising a reborn Dark Lord of the Sith, Revan (missed anythin?). (Sigh) Well, I hope next time will be better. But the "Fleet Emerging" movie (or so) was beautiful.

Women seem to be more ...compassionate than men, hence they are better at resisting the dark side

Hon, my real-life politics and ideals make the concept of having a universe cowering at my feet REALLY unappealing. :) I'm a real "power to the people," anti-eliteist type, ESPECIALLY the self-desginated elites...on political boards, I test out as a Green, Socialist, or (rarely) Pacifist-Anarchist.

A Dark Lord seems a terrible existence - the universe cowers at your feet, but there is no one to trust - anger and bitterness and no joy. As many a Roman emperor found out, even sadism and decadance ring hollow quickly. There is no one to share a laugh or a meal with. No one that is glad to see you at the end of the day. The people you rule hate you and the universe itself shrieks with the same agony as your soul...

Not my style.

Of course, I also wince at several of the Jedi concepts, too. the Jedi seem so scared of themselves that they'd rather attempt to amputate half their soul rather than learn how to live with themselves. It's this that eventually destroys them, judging by Episode 2. They take kids from the cradle (before they even understand what the hell they're swearing to), cut them off from the entire universe for most of their life, forbid them love and/or underequip them for the messier aspects of being a sentient. By Ep 2, they're so cloistered that they've lost their connection to life (the Force) itself.

Frankly can't blame Anakin for going insane. He must have equated the cloistered life with the slavery of his old life. Heck, on many levels, he had more freedom as Watto's property than as a Padawan.

allronix and endar if you got the game just to be on the light side, just like every star wars game that was out til now. that is way you can be ont he dark so you can be on a diffrent side of the force not the light side all the time. you should try the dark side you will find it to be more into it them the light side and you can go and get the bountys that you really cannt do on the light side cause you get dark points.

You don't need any joy, happieness, or any of that crap. Your soul is removed when your a Sith Lord.

And that's what's great about it. Emotion is a weakness. Nothing can interfier with your ruling. All you need is an awsome-as-Hell Jedi robe, a huge ship with a big window, and an apprentice that can wait until you die, and your set for life.

Sure people will hate you, but the Sith like you. I mean, I like my guy. He's unpredicible, fun to be around with, and.... hansome.

:p

And you say you can't trust anyone as a Sith Lord. The Light Side can. And that's why they're weak. Take Bastila, for example. Vandor just trusted Bastila not to turn to the Dark Side. He told her that the Dark Side is something to be feard, when it is something to embrassed. They held her back, making her bow to them, calling them "Master" because they knew she would surpass them all. The Councel is full of cowards.

P.S: At the begging of the game, I was feebel a Light Jedi. Then, Malak uttered those words that returned me to the power of the Dark Side. Just thought I'd share.

I'm done. See ya.

Xar, I play Black and White the same way. (shrug) The "evil" choices are...well...not too appealing.

Killing everything? No fun in that, really. Not when you can gather your evidence and let your opponent reap what he's sown while you attempt to keep a straight face. (I know, not terribly Light Side of me, is it?)

Credits? Well, I'm getting frighteningly good at Paazak, so I'm in no real need of those.

OTOH, I'm not a big fan of the Jedi council, either. Taking kids from the cradle, cutting them off from the world, turning them in emotional cripples rather than learn to deal with themselves, and eventually severing themselves from the Living Force in the bargain...Hate to say they brought it on themselves with Anakin, but it would certainly appear that way.

The Sith are disgusting. The Jedi, I just enthusiastically disagree with. Lesser of two evils, IMO.

Well, I'm not trying to change your mind about the Light Side. Sure the Dark Side is fun, but so's the Light Side.

But don't you ever get tired of always giving poor people 1000's of credits? Giving Dark Jedi boring-ass lectures? Or being the Councel's little pet? C'mon! Live a little. Let a little bit anger out. Show a little passion for once, ya goodie-two-shose Light Jedi.

oh yeah, dark jedi all the way, baby. i love being evil MUAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not about being "evil", or killing people for fun. It's about free will. It's about telling the opressing Jedi: "**** you. I'll do what I want".
