Okay, as you all know, the PC version of TFU "Ultimate Sith Edition" ("USE" for short) was Nov 3, and the Mac Version was released Nov 23. Update: New Reviews, thanks to Metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/starwarsthefoceunleashedultimatesithedition The game has earned a "meta" critical score of 65 out of 100 "mixed or average reviews" from the ones quoted below (Based on 17 critic reviews). They gave it a 5.2 "user score" but it is only based on 52 votes (and doesn't count in the meta critic score). The page now has the text of the "user reviews" on the page. (Note, I just quoted summaries, click the link above to find links to the full reviews) Please post your personal reviews and any reviews you find on the net, with comments if you like! Remember this is for the PC VERSION OF THE GAME ONLY. We already have a sticky thread for the console versions. (If you want to post reviews of the CONSOLE versions, try this thread instead). To start off, I read that IGN gave it a 7.5 out of 10. Here is a review given by a youtube user by the name of Skyburnbright (using a review copy, from Oct 31st): Source: (with gameplay footage) PS: As you can see, this person posted her/her PC specs. That will be helpful if you're doing your own review, as we can get an idea of the overall performance.

I need someone to grant me a save file starting just after the Starship is pulled down. My graphics distortion is soo bad here I can't get passed it. I worked for half an hour just by using the directional ques at lower screen but no good. Surely there's someone out there with a save file for me.

Okay I just got this game & installed the official patch. My system checks out. However, I can't control the game! That's right, I can use the mouse to go through the menus and set whatever I want, but once the gameplay actually begins, I can't control my character AT ALL. Mouse doesn't do anything, nor does keyboard. I'm on a laptop, and none of the laptop keys or the touch pad do anything either. The ONLY key that works in-game is ESCAPE which takes me back to the setup menus where I can freely change things with keyboard and mouse. I don't have an Xbox 360 USB controller, but I do have an adapter that allows me to use Playstation 2, Xbox or Gamecube controllers. I also have Joy2Key. I've tried with and without Joy2Key and no luck. I found this online: Sadly, as this is a laptop, I don't really have the option of plugging in ps/2 devices, as it only accepts USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 devices (keyboard and mouse are both in slots).

Aspyr has released a patch to fix some things in SWTFU:USE. The fixes are the following: This patch is an official update for North American Retail version of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. THIS PATCH IS FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN RETAIL VERSION OF THE GAME. This update includes some general performance improvements including the following: Patch File Size: About 403 MB A European patch version can also be found on the links below. -General performance optimizations -Optimized in game cloth handling -Optimized in game trees leaf handling -Added a detail setting to improve performance on lower end (dual core) machines -Addressed audio stuttering issues -Addressed options disappearing briefly after pressing [Esc] at the Main Menu -Addressed flashing placeholder text -Added additional controller support: Xbox 360 Controller for Windows Xbox 360 Wired Controller Logitech Rumblepad 2 Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 Logitech Dual Action Controller Saitek Cyborg Rumble Saitek P32 Rumble I went to the Aspyr site to see if there was any support for the bad sound and no graphics configuration whatsoever and I ended up finding this. Links: http://support.aspyr.com/index.php?x=&mod_id=1 or http://support.aspyr.com/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&root=252 If the above links don't work, go here: http://www.aspyr.com/product/info/117 I am downloading it at the moment, so I hope it fixes most of the problems/bugs we are all having with this game so far. It also helps to update you graphics card drivers, Direct X, and try not to run too many things on your computer while playing this game. I did that and it really speeded up the game play alot.

When I bought this game about a month ago, I played it for about three hours. I thought it was a wee bit better than I expected from many of the reviews I had read. I tried logging in to something like the Training Room, I think, and may have mistyped my login info. Now, every time I start the game, the splash screen comes up like normal (after the stick figure throws the lightsaber then jumps over it), where it blinks "Press Enter." When I do hit enter, it says: "Warning: Failed to Log In (Online Connection Failure). The only button to press is one that has the word "Confirm" on it. When I hit that, there are usually three slots that looked like save spots in the game and in the lower left I have the option to "New Game." When I do this, it crashes. I have uninstalled, deleted everything in the Program Files, and reinstalled half a dozen times. I have tried starting in offline mode. I need help with this.

Long-time PS3 player of this game here – I've just downloaded it on Mac (I'm away from home and couldn't bring the console…), and on starting a new game I've found loads of texture issues: mostly missing heads/helmets (Vader's bowl bit of helmet missing, Rebels missing theirs, and pretty much every Starkiller costume missing its), but also some bigger textures such as the doors to the hangar on the Hoth DLC, as well as Luke's pilot-outfit forearms and shins being empty. Really weird, and can't find anything online. I'm running the game on a 2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retina, which according to all the reviews handles and plays the game seamlessly. Help?! edit: here's a screen-cap of the problem: this kinda thing happens with almost every playermodel http://imgur.com/frF9zGh

Everything goes well untill I reach the door, behind which there's one of those tall trooper droids, as soon as I force-push the door out of the way and enter the room, the game crashes...I've tryed patching the game, tryed jumping through the door instead of walking (it helped me in some games, sometimes), but to no avail

What's your favourite costume from the game?

I had this problem after installing the game on my (fairly new) pc even with the patch, but I found this handy solution on gamefaqs forums (here): The solution in bold worked wonders for me, even with the 60 FPS unlocker. Now I can play the game with all the graphics features turned up and it runs like a dream. Thanks F22Lightning2!

if i can only afford one game, should i buy TFU or TFU2? also, i dont have any consoles, just a PC. i heard TFU for PC is an obvious port and therefore kind of choppy, so is it even worth it at all? ive heard mixed reports about the game. some love it, some hate it. i appreciate yalls answers, thanks.

Since I'm tired of seeing people playing the game without the cloth simulation effect and none of the patches fixed this issue, I've decided to make a tutorial so that people can play the game the way it was meant to be played: __________________ To activate cloth simulation: Go to the following location: C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Aspyr\Star Wars The Force Unleashed Open the file Config.xml with Notepad. Go to the line where it says: <s id="ClothLevel">0</s> Change it to: <s id="ClothLevel">1</s> Save the file and play the game with cloth physics activated.

Not liking this Jedi Temple mission. Once I get into the Darkness, I'll be gripping away at walkways and suddenly "Buzzz" the computer crashes and I have to reboot.

SWTFU USE can make use of the Nostromo n50 speedpad -if, however, you can get the controller working on Win 7 by using vista drivers. http://www.sevenforums.com/gaming/10179-nostromo-n50-speedpad.html is where you can find detailed information about how to get it working in Win 7. Freshly Patched Ultimate Sith Edition to 1.2 -Fraking intro @ 1680x1050 and high detail stutters like Bill Denbrough.

I'm running a new system with Win7 and a Core i5 processor. None-the-less i'm surprised to be having graphical distortions on screen. It can be ignored until required to pull a star destroyer out of the sky. Where is it????? Where to go from here to fix this?

I have just installed TFU-USE, and it seems to be a quite a good game, but controls [, and ] doesn't work, and I can get proper upgrades, or even exit the game without pressing ctrl+alt delete. I have looked on variety of forums for a fix, but nothing, so I thought I should ask. Can somebody help?

Okay I installed USE on a new PC (notebook actually, HP Pavilion dv7-6185us), immediately installed the 1.2 patch and I ran it in 1600x900 with high detail, and here's what happened. It was somewhat choppy (I searched in vain for a way to uncap the 30 fps limit, I found a program that purported to allow 60 fps but it was only for Force Unleashed 2), but the skies were really messed up. Basically as soon as I moved around or looked with the mouse, I got the infamous "hall of mirrors" blurry effect, and some slowdown. I thought my drivers were up to date, and my direct X as well but I'm not sure what's going on. I tried running it with "high detail" unchecked in the launcher but I have the same problem as before. My specs are (over the recommended): Win7 professional (64 bit), Intel Core i7 (up to 2.9 Ghz, iirc), 6 GB DDR3 Ram, Radeon HD 6409M, 1600x900 60 Hz display, BluRay/DVD Supermulti drive. PS: I have the latest DX 11 drivers and (I think) the latest manufacturer HP graphics drivers. Any help is appreciated!

For the love of God please remove the senseless 30fps lock on Star Wars the Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition PC! Devs you have totally ruined my enjoyment of this game... Why would you deliberately hamstring a potentially enjoyable gameplay experience???? I wanted to throw this game out the window when I realised that it was locked at 30fps. Fellow PC gamers, if you feel as I do and want this 30fps lock removed post in this thread!

I'm getting a weird texture issue (which apparently I can't PrintScreen) whenever I attempt to play the game. Menus work fine though. Some Textures are see-throgh and I can see the battle on the beach through the ground at the beginging of the first mission, textures also overlap Cut scenes, opeing squences and everthing else work fine just not gameplay. I bought SWTFU on steam a few days ago, and when i started playing i noticed that neither of the "[" or "]" worked. These are the keys you use to swap between the menus, and to level up in abilities and combat. so... without them working at ALL the game is pretty much borken. i have been looking for the problem for a while and i have tried stuff like macroing both the "[" and the "]" keys to the arrowkeys, but it doesnt work. I am playing on a nordic keyboard, meaning i have to press AltGr+8 or 9 to type [ or ], not that it should have anything to do with it, unless someone messed up the new patches. Edit: i found the problem, i was using the norwegian keyboard settings, and had to switch to the english/USA keyboard through the language options.

[pc] Technical support needed with SWTFU Ultimate Sith Edition
hedop posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello, this is my first post here so please forgive my ignorance if I say or ask something dumb. I recently bought and downloaded the above mentioned game. Unfortunately the game lags heavily. My system is a laptop HP DV 7-6021EG with 6 GB RAM and 1 Terrabyte harddrive, the processor is a I7-2630QM with 2 GHz and the Graphic card is a Radeon HD 6770M, my native screen resolution is 1600x900, Windows 7 64bit. I have patched the game to 1.2. My problem is that no matter which settings i choose (high details on or off, all different resolutions) the game lags to the point of me not being able to play it. The video sequences or at least the starting one lags heavily after the writing has disappeared into the universe but even if it is stable there is an audio lag and also the problem that the audio's volume is varying to a great degree. Once I'm on the planet and get to play Vader the game runs smoothly for about 30 seconds and after that there is a large visible lag and it takes between 5 and ten seconds to complete an action which basically make the game unplayable. Is there any possibility for me to get the game running smoothly or do I have to tr and claim my money back? I'm quite disappointed that this game doesn't seem to run on my laptop because I have no problems running the Witcher 2, the Witcher, Mafia 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, Shogun 2 Total War and similar games on the highest settings on my machine without a problem. STFU 2 also runs pretty much fine on my machine although there is the same annoying audio lag during video sequences. I really hope someone here can give me some advise. EDIT: Okay so I checked it a bit more thoroughly. The game sometimes (low settings) runs smooth for approx. 5-10 minutes and than suddenly (and without any recognisable connection to the surroundings or the actions I am performing) starts lagging and does not recover. Even if I stop doing anything for quite some time the lag continues. Furthermore like I said it doesn't seem to be connected to any specific area or even the use of the Ingamephysics. I managed to collapse 2 gates, and 2 bridges as well as throw about 10 wookies of a cliff without my laptop so much as getting a sweaty brow or the game starting to lag but 5 minutes later I WALK (without using force powers or the lightsabre) over a bridge and the lags start. I need to find a way to re-map some of the keys. The way the game sees my choice of R-CTRL and R-SHIFT as just CTRL and SHIFT and gets defaulted to the left side. I am an arrow keys player and not an AWSD player. It sucks that every time I block or throw sabers I have to stand still. Do you guys have a Mod or some Key Mapping thing
