  1. My kids love this game so I had to figure out a fix. Existing fixes that others posted weren't working. Thanks to all the existing suggestions I found on several sites, plus four hours of trial and error, I was able to figure it out! 1. Go to the GLDirect page on SourceForge. Download gldirect5_opensource.zip. 2. Extract the contents. Go to the gldirect5\bin\release folder. 3. Copy opengl32.dll to your GameData folder. 4. Play the game!! Tested on Windows XP x86 with a Radeon HD 3850 AGP running Catalyst 10.11 drivers...Success!! Tested on Windows 7 x64 with a Radeon HD 4870 PCIe running Catalyst 10.11 drivers...Success!! Enjoy! 1/2/2012 Update: I installed the 11.12 ATI drivers and the problem seems to be resolved. If you are still experiencing this issue, make sure you have the latest drivers first.
  2. Hi, i just installed xwa on windows 7 64bit with the 2.02 patch usingMarkus Egger's MCI Version..I have an ATI Radeon 4850 HD Video Card. The graphics when set to 3d look horrible. Font problems and some black squares appearing constantly making it impossible to play. I installed a dual boot windows xp 32bit, and exactly the same problems appear, on the normal version as well. A friend recommended i should try VMware Emulator and set it for windows 98. Any hopes this might help? I'm pretty skeptic considering it did not work on XP 32bit. I've been playing the thing in software only mode, but i'd really love to get to play it 3d, the few parts i can see of it make it an awesome game. Thanks.
  3. I've been considering replacing my aging ATi Radeon HD 2400 Pro with something all around better. I've been eying a nice 9800 GT with 1 GB of dedicated memory on Newegg, but I'm still browsing for better deals. Just to let you know, I've got XP, and a PCI Express slot, plus I'd like something at least within the $200 USD range. Anyone have any suggestions?
