So I've decided to take my copy of KotOR 1 (CD version) out of my dusty old collection to play it again for the nostalgia, and I was faced with two options: I could play it on my dusty old PC (running Win XP SP2) as I have in the past, or try to play it on my new school laptop (Win 7, and I won't be administrator on it till I get my final grades, so another year to go :'( ). I'm tired of playing games on my PC though, as it is so bad I have to play them on the lowest settings (IF I can play them in the first place). It can still run the game without bugs from start to finish on those low settings fine, but I can't bear the low quality anymore. I installed the game onto a portable USB hard drive so I can run it on my laptop, considering I can't install anything on it without administrator privileges. It runs amazingly well on the highest settings, but then I ran into the problem of not being able to load my save files (except autosaves). I searched all kinds of forums, which all said to delete the 'currentgame', 'futuregame', 'gameinprogress' and 'temp' folders from the game directory. I did so and everything worked completely fine, until I got to Dantooine. I found two areas in the game so far that my laptop cannot load (Jedi Enclave and the Grove), as it crashes on the loading screen every time with an error message saying 'swkotor.exe stopped working'. As you would expect, I decided I would save and switch over to my PC every time before entering those areas, then save and switch back to my laptop after exiting them, but I ran into yet ANOTHER problem (life just isn't that easy, right). Turns out it cannot load save files on my laptop that I have saved from my PC. Any suggestions? I have literally tried everything I found and nothing worked after hours of Google searching. I really love this game. ;-;

Every time I try to enter East Central Ahto City on Manaan, the loading screen doesn't appear at all. I'm thrown back into a frozen version of the loading screen where the cursor doesn't move despite the animations all playing normally. I've tried playing to this point from a few different saves, but I always get the same glitch in the same spot. I'm running the Steam version of the game, and I've followed all of the Steam-appropriate fixes from this thread: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=194296 The game had been working perfectly fine on Windows 7 in windowed mode before this happened; and although I have quite a few mods installed, none of them should be affecting this area in particular. Since this is a gamebreaking glitch, I'd appreciate if anyone had any ideas on how to fix/get around the issue. I'm happy to post system specs if anyone has any idea how to fix this. Thanks!

When playing through TSL I have gotten stuck on Onderon due to the game crashing on the loading screen just after getting Dhagon Ghent out of holding. Loading earlier works, and I have worked my way back there from my previous save and get the error again, the game simply crashes in the standard windows way. In terms of specs I am running a windows 7 system with an nvidia geforce gtx550ti, if that is incompatible.

Hi, my KOTOR 1 is having quite a bit of problems. First off, upon launching the game, an error message pops up saying the following: "Script Error Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error Description: Path not found File: (null) Line 46, Character 2 at:" ...end. As far as i know, this isnt hindering the gameplay or anything but it may be the cause of the loading problem. There were no problems before that error message starting popping up. The loading issue happens every time i start a save, but not an autosave. The loading screen shows up with the little tip at the bottom, but the bar only reaches the "L" on the word Loading. Nothing else happens and i end up Ctrl+Alt+Deleting every time. Please help.

Brutal Legend is a great game, made real by the tremendous effort of many great people — developers, artists and publishers. Unfortunately the release of 1.2 patch had introduced a bug critical enough to make the game unplayable for a significant portion of PS3 users, known as the "stuck at the loading screen" bug. This petition was created to address this issue. The detailed description of this and a few other bugs can be seen in the petition itself. Notice LF is now sporting loading messages! I wonder who is responsible for this? (Kudos to where it is deserved) This is a neat feature... only problem is people with blazing internet connections () have hardly any time to read the messages...
