Hey all, my name is Tim Temmerman. I worked at Lucasarts for 10 years up until the Disney acquisition and closure. I was a Designer and Producer on titles like Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb, Star Wars Galaxies, The Old Republic, and Star Wars First Assault. Another fellow Lucasarts teammate, Matt Boland, and I have been working on a new game called Super Roman Conquest. It's a sidescrolling strategy game with 2D sprites in a 3D world, based in the setting of Ancient Rome. (Sorry we couldn't make another Star Wars game ). We just got done with a trailer (with music scored by former Lucas employee Jesse Harlin) and wanted to show you guys: We're hoping to get the game funded through Kickstarter so we can release it next Summer. The art you see is temporary, but we're bringing another Lucas artist on the team to help define the art. Anyway, take a look, and please let us know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks and sorry for the shameless plug! - Tim

Having just moved into a new place, I have a large spot open that a landscape/panorama/mural type image would work nicely in, and I've started brainstorming ideas on what could be placed there. I already have a few framed adventure game posters (thanks to the hard work of Laserschwert) and was hoping to add a center piece along these lines. One cool idea that came up when I was talking with a friend was to make an image that somehow involved 10 or more old school adventure game characters. While it isn't that hard to find reference art for 10 or more adventure game characters, it was harder to imagine a context (place, mostly) that they could all be present in at once. That's when I remembered this image: High Resolution here Original Art Inspiration Here So, I thought, how hard could it be to make a similar image, but with Lucas Arts adventure game characters? (Answer... hard! But doable!) Which just leaves a couple questions to consider before I commit the time. First of all... Which 12 characters should be used!? And which character gets to be Jesus!? So, before I get too far ahead of myself, I'm starting out by soliciting some advise from the community. Which characters should be in it? Who plays the most pivotal roles (IE, Jesus, Judas, Mary). I think as a pop culture piece it would be pretty cool. Any other ideas on the exact location for the table would be welcome too, or even a cool new context for them entirely. Also advice on foreseeable problems would appreciated well.

Hi there, Back in 2008 I wrote a 45-page Masters dissertation on the cultural, market and technological factors that shaped the rise and fall (and the then impending resurrection) of Adventure Games. I submitted it, finished the Masters and promptly forgot all about it. I found the file again today and thought I'd stick it up online. It's not the most thoroughly-researched dissertation ever, but, considering the time constraints of the Masters course, it's alright. As a long-time adventure game fan, I enjoyed writing it. I enjoyed the research part, which involved replaying some of the classics and ploughing through a ton of old Amiga magazines from the early '90s. I also enjoyed reading the Conclusion from today's perspective, as it reminded me of the excitement I felt in 2008 at the possibility of adventure games making a successful comeback with Telltale et al. Whether that comeback was as successful as I'd hoped is debatable, but the Conclusion still acts as a nice time-capsule of how I felt at the time. You can read it here (if you care to ignore the fairly clunky title): The Genre that Mouse Built? How Culture, Markets and Technology Shaped the Rise, Fall and Resurrection of 'Point and Click' Adventure Games I probably won't revisit it as it's been three years since I finished it, but I'm nevertheless interested in your opinions (and in any factual errors, which I might go back and correct). I'm particularly interested in hearing what the Mixnmojo community thinks as it's very Lucas Arts-heavy, plus some Mixnmojo members get a mention in it! Anyway, it's nice to get it up online and out of my system. Enjoy! - Scobymaguire
