End of level 10 Help! Levitation doesn't work!

I've tried & tried, but I can't get more than about 2 feet off the floor with Azerims part. No way can I get up to the catwalk. Am I doing something wrong? I stand under the blue crystal holding it, press control & drift up about 2 feet. Then, if I try to use the cursor keys - nothing. No higher, no lower. I can spin around in place if I use the left/right though. Help! At least has anyone got a start level 11 savegame I can use? thanks in advance -

Try holding the cursor keys down!!

The part gets you to levitate when you hold down the Ctrl key but you must also hole the up (of forward) arrow as well.
