To the best of my knowledge you can't give droids weapons that they can use, but you can store items in droids... I do know that you can own a protocol droid, Master Droid Engineers craft them but I am not exactly sure their purpose in galaxies since i know how to comprehend all langugages, and I don't see the immediate need to have a conversation with moisture vaporators...
