question about secret level map

I am about to finish level 15, and have yet to purchase the map for the secret level. Should i do so before beginning level 16? I'm assuming the game will end, meaning i would have to replay a level to check out the secret level. I'm curious about continuity (maybe it includes some clever segue).

When you finish level 16 the secret map is reveled by it self.(you don't have to purchase it)

Hey, why do all of you guys need maps? I completed the game without using _any_ map. I don't even know which key shows up the map.

But I'm one of those crazy Tomb Raider - veterans, maybe that's the reason for me not using hints or maps ;-)

i have had the needed $2500 for a while now and plan on saving it until the end...the secret level is a bonus level right?

 

if not, i'm going to buy a whole bunch of bazookas and start blasting things =)

I bought the map around level 13. Once I finshed that level, the regular game levels picked right up where I left off. I was not aware that it will automatically appear at the end of the game. Not much of a secret level if that happens.

I tried buying that map as soon as I had the money (about level 6 otr 7 because I wasn't buying stuff) and I was immediately transported to that level - Return to Peru. I did not want to go there, so I "returned" the map and went on with the game. So I guess I'll just buy it somewhere later int he game.
