AJL
What kind of differences changing the class makes to NPC ?? And what classes are there ?? And what does rank do and what ranks are there ??
TK-8252
If you surf through the npc files, just write down every class that you see. DO NOT include classes that have a // in front of the line. The ranks would be: crewman, ensign, lt, ltcomm, commander, and captain. Crewman is the lowest and captain (I think) is the highest rank. If an npc's rank is ensign or higher, other npcs on it's team will retreat if the high-ranking npc is killed. If an npc's rank is crewman, other npcs don't care if it dies. They'll just keep fighting and will hold their ground.
AJL
Rank doesn't affect to their fighting skills ?? Does class affect their fighting skills or what is its purpose ?

Rank does not effect fighting skills. At least I'm pretty sure. It's the reaction, aim, etc. that makes them good or bad fighters. Different kinds of people use different classes. Like Boba Fett has his own class, which is what makes him fly, use flamethrower, etc. The Imperial Officers have their own class which is what makes them put their hands behind their backs when they're not fighting. Some classes are very similar, like the Trandoshan and Weequay classes are much alike.
peloquin
I've found that the enemy will target the highest rank first. If you spawn an npc with a higher rank than you the enemy will almost ignore you and go after the npc instead.
AJL
Is there somewhere some additional data for those NPCs ?? Because it seems that I can modify two NPC files so that every single quality is same... weapon, rank, force, class, ... everything same... EXEPT the name of cource... cultist <- NAME { ALL SAME HERE } cultist_lightning <- NAME { ALL SAME HERE } But still those two are different (cultist_lightning is more agile but only that clumsy cultist knows how to pull the damn trigger in his blaster rifle...) Kurgan
Hmm.. I wonder if this information could be used to make bots obey your "orders" in MP? Like set yourself as "the captain" and them as crewmen or something?

NightXsenator
Rank DOES affect fighting skills. An NPC with 'civilian' rank will never or extremely rarely use force lightning(if he has), on the other hand, 'captain' will use it pretty much.
