ideas for space expansion

Firstly, these are just my ideas, please show your insight into them and let me know what you feel about them.

 

ok, starting at control, i heard somewhere that they were maybe going to implement turn based style play to space fights, i think this would make me destroy my pc, i feel, if the space combat has any chance it has to play like a flight sim style game, not something as crude as rogue squadron, but something easy enough to pick up, i also believe that not everyone will be able to fly easily, the only argument i can come up with for this, is the fact you are paying for the space expansion therefore you are expected to fly, on the other hand, they could make it so npc's control ships (star destroyers etc) that hold a massive crew and certain members of the crew would dispatch and fight (x wings and ties) i also think you should only get to pilot x wings and ties in that sort of situation. this leads onto another point, as the game portrays the real life world of the star wars universe, not everyone is a fighter, it would be a good point to say that it may be hard to gain access to a ship that has weapon power, it could be that the ships just have the ability to take you places unless you get lucky enough to become a pilot etc etc.

 

anyway, i could go on, but ill go to my ideas....

 

1. to buy a ship you would have to earn a license, i cant believe i havent seen anything on this, just like driving a car, im sure a ship would need to be learnt, thus making it more of a task to fly, and especially to be a pilot (piloting license) this would devoid from it being brought under skills, but i think a license earning system would be good, that way people could be driving instructors and teach lessons for top moolah :D.

 

2. Ships SHOULD cost a lot of money, good ships anyway, also, if its going for realism there has to be a fuel for the ships, perhaps cheap ships will only be able to travel planet to planet on one tank of fuel, therefore rendering them obselete for battle, helping cull the number of ships in battle all the time (cause i dont know how 20 v 20 ships in battle is going to affect lag lol)

bigger ships if possilbe i think would be made, and they would cost more.

which brings me to this point

 

3. larger ships, now say for example, you were an imperial, and you were in a player association with, oh, lets say.... 100 imperials, and you were a warring faction of imperialism. it is safe to say, you and your allies are going to want to destroy/battle as many of those rebel scum as possible. wouldnt it be great if you could all come together and spend an obscene amount of cash on your very own star destroyer! it would become your place of residence and you would become a traveller with the imperials you are aboard with, (maybe even join an imperial fleet) you log on, be on your ship, and a days events could include walking around covorting with other likeminded imperials, landing on a planet with the others to explore/eliminate, using a gun turret to destroy nasty rebels, venturing out in a ship to explore or leave the star destroyer, PILOTING IT hahaha! the list could go on.

Just imagine how fked off you are gonna be if the beast got attacked and destroyed, ships being destroyed would be a good reason to stop combat, also if you went out and got blown up, you lose your place on the sd until you can find it next on land.

its all these little quirks that make waiting for the se very anticipating. sorry for writing so much, i could write more! please continue this as i want to let some more of my ideas known!
