within the game when i open the console i noticed (before i froze and played the endless loop of sound and music) a few errors in yellow:

Couldn't find image for shader [nonmaterial] (i saw this twice]

Couldn't find image for icon/ etc...

I have no idea what is causing this. I have put a new motherboard, processor, video card, sound card, psu and memory and yet i still have the same problem. My old system was:

asus a7v133-C

amd athlonxp 1700+

nvidia geforce 3 ti200 (latest drivers)

winxp pro

Maxtor 40

Western digital 40

SB live xgamer 5.1 (latest drivers)

antec 330 psu

and yes JKII is updated to 1.04, no i'm not using mods and i just reformated my HD and it still crashes. I have the latest DX9b and sound drivers, i think Eax 4.0.

here is my new system:

I think i've narrowed it down to 3 possiblities. First i think it could be the Hard Drives. It is possible that i have bad sectors on the drives themselves. Secondly the ribbons could play a factor in this. And lastly i think it could but (hightly doubt it) my cd-roms. However this problem may not be hardware it could be a bios setting or something. My system and your system boo clearly can run this game and many others. Is JKII outcast the only game that has this problem or does any of your other activison or quake 3 engine games have this problem. I'm on to something here, and i plan to fix this problem.

anyone else have this problem with JK2 outcast and other games, please give me any advice or suggestions you may have.

thanks,

liquid

my friends

i may have the answer to all of our gaming problems. The problem isn't hardware. The problem can be related to agent smith if you catch my drift. Yes agent smith from the matrix. Now think back in reloaded, agent smith was no longer "plugged" in. Thus becoming his own "person" a virus so to speak. You guessed it, a pretty nasty worm that slowly corrupts the exe files within your system. She hides in low memory like a timer, waiting for the time to strike. Yes reformatting and fdisking seems like a way to fix this, but it isn't. Being a gamer we want games now. Consequently we seek out sharereactor or filenexus getting are hands on the game or piece of musis without paying a price for it. However the deed may have already been done. My friends downloading compressed files and or music may be the gateway for this little virus to slip in and seriously damage our fun. The little guy is called parite.b w32.pinfi this may sound familiar to some, and might sound like greek to others. Either way it needs to be eliminated. most anti-virus software cannont find this worm, so seek out somebody who can deal with this threat. Once i find out more, i will let you know. good luck and i hope we can finally solve this problem.

peace,

pat
