lukeiamyourdad Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Well look: http://www.gamezone.com/gzreviews/r18599.htm It's a review of SWGB1. I know it's very old stuff but it's always nice to hear someone appreciate this game.
Sithmaster_821 Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Yeah, I saw that earlier. Its pretty awesome how much praise that guy gave to this game. It is verging on excessive...
saberhagen Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Almost hyperbolic. Although I love this game, it's not quite as amazing as he seemed to think. He managed to gloss over the terrible voice acting. Original actors were too expensive presumably, but it's good to see Guy Siner getting work, even if it means that General Veers is a lot camper than he was in the films! "Ooh, Lord Vader, you must hide ze knackwurst in my trousers..."
Admiral Vostok Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Most of this guys sentiments are mine exactly, though I would be less hesitant to call the food/wood/gold/stone change to food/carbon/nova/ore "cool" as he does. Also he spelt Wookiee wrong and didn't capitalise the Force, which annoyed me
clonedjedi Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 K this review is 100% correct this is the best RTS gameplay out of them all but the only problem was not enough advertisment and the star wars theme some people dont like but to hell with them. Graphics were great in the time frame it was released. Easiest multiplayer one of the easiest MP out there to use.
Sithmaster_821 Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Actually the graphics were good when AoK was released, not SWGB which was released 2 years later.
lukeiamyourdad Posted November 18, 2003 Author Posted November 18, 2003 Now read this: http://www.game-revolution.com/games/pc/strategy/star_wars_galactic_battlegrounds.htm We should burn this guy for heresy...
saberhagen Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 pmsl! He just doesn't know how to play RTS and doesn't have a very good PC. Playing against someone who thinks that walls and turrets are invincible is usually an easy victory.
Admiral Vostok Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 This guy comes across as knowing more than the first guy, but it is amusing that he can't tell that the "pauses" are due to his computer being crap. On the whole it feels like he didn't play enough of the game to really understand it. On the plus side, he can spell Wookiee and uses Star Wars quotes in his writing.
