Invalid folder...

Hey guys, how you been? It's been a while, so I might be posting in the wrong area Well, I got JA on Ebay a week ago (It's English version but I got it from an Asian guy, but some of my other games like Bf1942 and CoD I got the same way too) and I've beaten SP on Light and Dark and it ran fine. In MP, though, every so often I get this stupid "Invalid Folder" bull when trying to connect. I click again and it logs me in the server usually. Anyone getting this or know a fix? Nothing too big, but it's getting on my nerves. Thanks guys.

Bring down the console (shift tilde) and check your version number.

 

If it says 1.0.0.0 then it's legit.

 

(If you applied the official patch it will say 1.0.1.0).

 

If it says 1.0.0.4 it's the demo; if it says 0.0.6.6 or 0.0.7.1 or similar you have one of the illegally leaked betas).

 

In the later two cases you got ripped off...

 

Of course the Demo has no multiplayer, so that isn't your problem.

Use of cd-cracks may cause problems, but generally not the "invalid game folder" problem, which is due to an installation problem (typical of warez for example).

 

Not to diss on an entire continent and territory, but software piracy is pretty high in asia (much higher than in Western countries), so it's possible you were sold a beta or warez masquarading as legit.

 

Anyway, the "Invalid Game Folder" error is caused by one of two things:

 

1) You're using an illegal (bootleg, warez, beta) version of the game and trying to join a legit game.

 

2) You're using a legit version of the game trying to join an illegal server.

 

 

Solution: Buy a legit version of the game (if you haven't already) and try another server.

 

Also, 1.011 (the server update) is listed as "basejka" in ASE and other programs, whereas 1.0 is listed as "basejk."
