Vile Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 how do you make an NPC in a duel map not count for the duel victory if one of the players kills that NPC? Or is it just not possible.
giganerd Posted December 8, 2003 Posted December 8, 2003 Yeah, I'd like to know how to prevent this too, because in my FFA map that I'm working on that has swoops, when you kill a swoop it counts towards your score.
Vile Posted December 8, 2003 Author Posted December 8, 2003 and than people spam by sitting there and killing the swoops constatly and thus winning the map.....yeah very annoying is there like a Important=0 tag or something that makes a NPC not count towards your score?
Vile Posted December 9, 2003 Author Posted December 9, 2003 I have worked with it some more and it seems like it cant be done..... is there a hidden tag I am messing or do I have to take this to a more deeper edit....SDK maby?
Vile Posted December 11, 2003 Author Posted December 11, 2003 I guess it isnt possible....Wade if you read this do you know anything as to fix this little nanny of a problem?
razorace Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 There probably just needs to be a minor fix to the score giving code for duel modes.
Vile Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 could this be done thru the .veh and .npc files ?
Vile Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 yeah I can see.....there is nothing in there that conveys to that. Could it be done thru any other way without SDK...? Otherwise I have a solution to it but it is not very good, I can make the vehicle invulnerable so you cant kill it but that kinda kills the fun of destroying the swoop that someone is riding on
razorace Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 Sure! All you'd have to do is a entity type check before giving out score for kills.
Vile Posted December 13, 2003 Author Posted December 13, 2003 ok now not to sound stupid, but how would I do that
razorace Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Well, I'm not your tech support but I think it's somewhere in the G_death (I think that's the name) function.
razorace Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 It's not your fault, mostly. I've just been swamped by people who seem to think that I should do all their work for them instead of figuring it out for themselves.
Vile Posted December 14, 2003 Author Posted December 14, 2003 believe me I am figuring myself I just ask around while I do it as to solve the problem faster also I do know how you feel I am one of the top modders in the C&C community I get questions all the time about the simplest of stuff and it gets very annoying....:( but I help them anyway as I also know how it is to come into something completely new (like JA mapping/modding) and not know anything.
Vile Posted December 14, 2003 Author Posted December 14, 2003 3 of them, I am known as Lt.Zack over there. I made mods for Tiberian Sun (D.T.A.), Red Alert 2 (The WH40k Mod, Energy Mod v4.0), and Generals (Energy Mod v5.0, World War 3)
