ive been playing KOTOR for a bout a month now off and on and im a fairly decent gamer.(halo, metal gear solid, etc) yet this is my first RPG and for some reason i just plain suck at fighting. Ive left my xbox discouraged many times cause of this games fighting system. all my characters have plenty of stims, shields, all are uprgraded and everything seems just perfect when im getting ready to go into battle. Yet once i do it all falls downhill. Ive tried every method possible, setting diff people at grenadiers, etc. Myabe the fighting system is supposed to be this hard but for example in the sith base on manaan. Ive tried probably 15 times to kill the three sith jedi's with 15 diff strategies of fighting and i can hardly kill even one of them. I dunno if im dion something wrong or what but this game is an awesome game, but my fighting makes me not wanna play it at all. What dyou use as your usual strategy to fight? and is it this hard for you?

you must be referring to the darth bandon fight.(if not i cannot think of another instance where there are three dark jedi) i have seen that some people have had problems with this fight. and be glad you got it on manaan. when you beat him you will not only get his armor but his lightsaber(it will not say darth bandon's lightsaber, but it should remain separate from the others, and it has properties with upgrade crystals that are unique to it, as long as you don't remove the red crystal)

as far as how to beat them, first i would focus all three characters on bandon. kill him first and then worry about the other two. as they are merely apprentices. if you have force wave on either of your supporting characters have them use it over and over only stopping to heal as necessary. and if your main character is a good physical combatant, aqttack bandon with him. otherwise, use whatever character you have that is the strongest physically to attack. use primarily melee weapons or sabers, as bl;asters do little good most of the time. since they are either merely deflected or blocked with personal shields. only use blasters if you have someone already hacking at him, as this will make it more difficult to deflect blaster bolts since they are trying to block your attacks. regardless, try to have at least one character with supporting offensive force powers and heal, one character with strong physical attacks(with melee weapons or saber) and one character with some sort of ranged attacking, be it blasters or force powers.

to be honest, i don't remember having trouble with this part. but the primary thing to remember is that it is hard to win difficult battles only giving commands to one character. the choices made by the scripting system are not always optimal. so be sure to pause frequently and assign new commands to characters that have run out of previously assigned commands and are now attacking on their own.
