end of the game

I agree with Jane Doe about the end of the game, I was so puzzled so I played that chapter three times before I realize that it either was some kind of bug or that the game really ends up that way. I'm not realize why this chapter is added, as it not has anything to do with "closing the game" and what is the purpose of picking up the gas can at the beginning of the chapter? I've been very impressed of this game so far, but the end could been better after all hours behind the keyboard trying to solve all tricky riddles.
