questions on Taris and Korriban [possible spoilers]

Hi there, its my first time posting in the KOTOR forum, I usually spend time in the JA forum. Just a couple of quick questions.

 

1) When you talk to the rakghoul infested outcasts on Taris Undercity (after you cure them of course) they tell you to check out the crashed republic escape pod for some salvage. Has anyone found anything over there? I've played the game twice and all I find are a bunch of mines I can recover and sell.

 

2) Regarding Korriban and Yuthara Ban. I saw a thread on the forums here saying that it was possible to persuade her to the lightside for some lightside points? Is this true? The first time I sided with her but didn't find her again and try to persuade her. The second time I told Uthar of her plans and so I had to kill both of them along with all of the students.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) Yup, all you find is just some mines, nothing else. The game always informs you of things that doesn't exist; like those swoop parts

 

2) The way is to side with Yuthura. Next after Uthar is died and you've fought her, there is a last chance of dialogue. If you allow her to leave, you'll get LS Points and the Sith in the Sith Academy will also allow you safe passage through on your way back

 

OR

 

If you allow her to go while persuading her to reconsider her Sith ways, you'll get more LS Points than the first method but the Sith Academy will be hostile to you on your way back through it. As a bonus to turning her back to the Lightside, if you're able to return to Dantooine afterward, you can find Yuthura outside the Jedi Enclave on the North side of the Courtyard
