Does anyone have anysuggestions for getting past this one. I keep getting the first walker but trying to get the second one always either gets me killed or the little walkers. I have tried cleaning out the valley with the generator and have also tried going staight after the first walker immediately. Any help would be appreciated

that level was hard... when i finally beat it only one AT-PT was left... you gotta high tail it over the fence to the first AT-AT when the mission starts... get him down.. go back over the fence and go to the left and clean out that one... just get the turets dont worry about the shield generator yet.... after you get the second one go back to the fork and go the left and get that one... when you are coming back get all the tanks because they are the peskiest little things...there are about 100 of them.. after you clear them out the TIE bombers start coming... get them before they get near the AT-PT's they will do some damage.. when you see the AT-PTs walking up to that building, then you go and take out the shield generator.... it is a hard level

Two people have so far beaten Fest with the following walkthrough, hope it helps you as well --- smile.gif

Ooooo, Escape from Fest?? Ahr, I HATED that one!!! Here's how I eventually did it: as soon as the mission

starts, DO NOT WASTE ONE SECOND- jam up on your main thruster and tow-cable the first AT-AT. Immediately

after you bring him down, max out your throttle again, in the direction of the gate the AT-PTs are being blocked

by. Keep flying over and past it, until you see the generator (don't worry about it yet) with a second AT-AT

near it, and bring him down in the same fashion as you did the first one. Timing is crucial, there should be as few

"delays" as possible on your part...now fly briefly back in the direction you came (the gate should be coming

down at right about this point, from your squad mates fragging it), and when the path on the ground forks in a

straight-and-left T-junction, hang a sharp left, shoot ahead down this path and regulate the third and final

AT-AT as quickly as you did the first two. When that's done, immediately head back the way you came, in the

direction of the AT-PTs, picking off any tanks you see poking their little turrets over the tops of BOTH ridges.

From here, the tanks are the immediate threat, but they're small and fairly easy to detonate. Just fly as steady

and aim as best you can, because the little suckers seem to multiply like rabbits on Viagra at a couple of points,

and they can quickly overwhelm your AT-PTs. Just keep at it till they're either scorched snow, or out of range of

the AT-PTs. The BIGGEST threat is what's just next: those darned TIE Bombers. You'll need to knock 'em down

before they get near your AT-PTs, because one bomb from their bays will vaporize ALL the AT-PTs (if it was

dropped in the middle of them, as it usually was for me frown.gif). If you can just get the hang of following this basic

flight pattern within the necessary time window (which is trickier than it sounds here, for some reason), you're

home free! wink.gif

Good Luck. You'll need it. smile.gif

  • 2 weeks later...

There is actually a question of timing in this level. If you fly straight to the first AT-AT, you'll see it shooting at one of the AT-PTs. Try doing something else first... For example, I flew straight to the 2nd AT-AT, tied it up, came back to the first ridge, took out 2 turrets, and then went straight to the first AT-AT and it wasn't even shooting AT ALL.

You'll need to experiment to get the timing right. When you start that mission, there'll be a small droid tank on the snow floor right smack in front of you. Take it out. Then veer slightly to your left, and take out the turrets there. Then, head to the first AT-AT. This should give you sufficient timing. It worked for me; I took out the AT-AT there and it didn't shoot at the AT-PTs once.

Try it out !

This level was pretty tough. I eventually figured out how to do it, though. (Actually, I didn't know about Kint's method. It might be a little easier if you use his, but it actually seems like cheating to me. ^_^) The first thing you do is not head straight for the first AT-AT. Hit your thrusters, and bank right until you see the generator. You'll also see two laser cannons near it. Blast the two cannons, and any of those little bugger troopers running around on the ground while you can. Then bank right, and head for the ridge with the three laser turrets. Destroy those, and when you get to the end, bank right again, and blast the last laser turret. Now you're read to take on the AT-AT. When I got there, he was shooting at the AT-PTs, but his aim was completely off. Just tie him up as fast as you can, breaking only occasionally, and then when you're finished with him, boost over to the second AT-AT. Don't worry about those little buggers on the ground, your wingmen should give you enough cover. Tie up the second AT-AT very quickly, and then head on over to the third AT-AT. This is where it gets crucial. If you hit the AT-AT, or drop the line somehow, you're screwed. You have to be perfect at the tying up... After he's tied up, you've only got a short amount of time to destroy all of the tanks on the ground. As much as you try, you'll probably lose one AT-PT. Once the tanks are gone, circle tightly around the AT-PTs. A pack of bombers will arrive shortly, and try to demolish the remnants of the squad of PTs. Shoot those bombers down before they have the chance to get near the AT-PTs. Once the bombers are done with, you're safe. Now all you have to do is destroy the generator, and blow up the research facility. That shouldn't be very hard, so good luck.

Actually, it's not cheating since this is how you're supposed to do it, my dear Darwin. You're absolutely right, whatever you do do NOT go straight to the first AT-AT. You go to the right first, kill a couple of turrets, and you see the first AT-AT shooting way off target. I just do something else, and I get the same results. Sometimes it shoots off target, sometimes it doesn't shoot at all. I guess gamers will just have to experiment to find the sequence that works best for them.
