N64 RS Strategy Help

I found the code out for the TIE Interceptor for N64.  The code is TIEDUP.  There is one problem though.  I cannot find a way to access the ship in the hangar bay.  In the briefing room where you choose levels, the TIE Interceptor is shown as one of you available ships.  If you have any information on how to solve this cheat please let me know. Also, if there is also a way to access the Cadillac code on N64 please let me know. - Pantele

Hello! We have N64 Rogue Squadron.  We are stuck on Mission 4. When we get to the Imperial Walker with the Snow speeder, we can't figure out how to get the Rope to come out so we can wrap it around the Walkers legs to trip it and destroy it. We have been told it's the Left C (Yellow) button, but it's not working! Can you help, or point us to an N64 RS site that can help! Thanks. -Greg & Crew

Can the three extra levels that include the trench run be accessed for the Nintendo 64 and if so can you tell me how to do it, I saw this on a particular website but it got me confused, thanks very much for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. - David

If I want to get the three bonus levels do I first have to get all bronzes, then all silvers, then all golds to play each one, or can I access all three bonus levels if I simply get all golds? Also, I enabled TOUGHGUY and don't know how to disable it. Thanks in advance for your help. -PBGenius

Hey, I'm looking for some help with the Death Star Trench bonus.  I've gotten all the bonuses except DS Trench (and possibly Hoth...still can't manage to get a gold on Rescue at Kessel...103 kills....) but anyhow I went all over the DS Trench with a fine toothed comb, luckily I didn't need the bonus for gold but it's fairly evident there is one there.  Any ideas?  Thanks a lot. -Ryan

<FONT COLOR="FFFFFF">To Pantele's question: I am not certain if this is the same for the N64 version, but I'm betting it is. Anyway, to get to the TIE, first move the camera view into position as if you're going to select the Millennium Falcon, then push UP on the joystick/gamepad. You should then be able to select the TIE.

<FONT COLOR="CCCCCC">Don't know "the" answer to Greg & Crew's question, because there are a number of possible "fixes" for this occurance, depending on the cause. Among these are: get closer to the AT-AT before pressing the LEFT-C, or you could just start pressing it and continue to do so as you approach the AT-AT's legs until it deploys; if the game Control Options allows you to do so, try assigning the tow cable/secondary weapons fire function to a more convenient button such as the A, B, or Z; etc. If I failed to address the cause of the aforementioned problem with the preceding examples, I sincerely apologize. Sorry.

<FONT COLOR="999999">To David's question: I would assume the same way you get to the secret missions for the N64 is the same as for the PC: to access Beggar's Canyon, get at least a Bronze in all Missions (1-16); to access DS Trench, get at least a Silver in all Missions (1-16); and to access Hoth, get at least a Gold in all Missions (1-16).

<FONT COLOR="505050">To PBGenius's question: Yes, you can access all secret missions if you "simply" get a Gold in all missions, but it's not as easy as you make it sound. And to disable the TOUGHGUY cheat, I don't know what the N64 uses for DELETE functions (on the PC you press SHIFT-DELETE).

<FONT COLOR="333333">To Ryan's question: I don't know about any bonus for the N64 version, but in the PC version, there is no bonus on the DS Trench mission.

<FONT COLOR="151515">To Jeremy's question: Please see the answer to David's question.<FONT COLOR="000000">

<FONT COLOR="FF0000">Pantele- You must go to the Falcon (FARMBOY) and let the camera come to a stop, then press up!

<FONT COLOR="FFFF00">Greg and Crew- Fly as close to the legs as you can and when it says "Activate Harpoon" press left C.

<FONT COLOR="00FF00">David- yes they can, you can use Gameshark codes or the following:

Get all Bronze medals: Beggars Canyon

Get all Silver medals: Death Star Trench Run

Get all Gold medals: Battle of Hoth

<FONT COLOR="00FFFF">PBGenious- Get all golds and it will give you Beggars Canyon since you have at least a bronze on each mission. Then get a Gold on Beggars Canyon and you will get the Death Star Trench Run. Then get a gold on the Trench Run for the battle of Hoth. In other words: just do your best on each level and when you go through them all: go back and do better!

<FONT COLOR="0000FF">Ryan- There's a bonus in the DS Trench? There isn't one, or at least I didn't find it... where'd you hear that... you probably mis-read... it probably said that the DS Trench is a bonus level but not that there is a Bonus in the trench... Usually if there is a bonus it is required for gold. You can't fly out of the trench so if you still think there is one, just blow up every stinkin thing you see! have fun!

Greg and Crew:

On mission 4 you can fly right next to the legs and ride the brakes when you get close then push C Left. It should attach the cable to the legs and you need to take it around the legs a few times, Luke will tell you when you need one more turn around. It takes a lot of practice, I crashed into the legs a million times or the cable disconneted before I got it right.

To Greg&crew if I've said it once i've said it a million times to many people! But since it's you I'll answer never change speed until you're used to tying up the walker, it can seriously alter your trajectory. Speed up and the cable will breakm slow down and you will smash into the legs, keep it constant and it should be no problem. REMEMBER that the walkr is moving so you have to take that into account when circling the front of the walker. Trust me I've taught a child to tie up a walker!!!

<FONT COLOR="000000">No, because in order to make it all the way around both of the AT-ATs, your speeder will fly too far afield of the first AT-AT when trying to allow for the second AT-AT. The tow cable will, of course, keep breaking if you try it. Or so I'd think, anyway. smile.gif<FONT COLOR="FFFFFF">

Believe me it would be brilliant to be able to do it! I've tried in shadows of the empire, Super empire strikes back and of course Rogue Squadron!! smile.gif

For everyone having trouble getting your tow rope to deploy...you are probably not close enough to the walker. You have to get really close--like you're about to crash into it--then shoot at the legs. Try to use your brakes to go as slow as possible and wait for the voice to say "activate harpoon." After you hit it, the view changes automatically. Then you have to circle the walker three times. And down it goes!

The easiest way to take down a walker is to press L or down on the control pad to switch back to normal view once you've shot the tow cable.

Another easy way to take out an AT-AT is to fly as close to the ground as possible, since your speeder won't crash into the ground. Then you can use your shadow to judge your distance from the walker... trust me, it makes a world of difference!
