I am curious what is the best resolution to play the game?

1024x768 or 800x600?

Having 80 gig hard rive, Motherboard kt7 AMD 2800 xp processor with 1 gig of ddr ram, bus speed is 333. I am running RAID striped. 21 inch CRT monitor and of course my ATI 9700 Graphics card.

I have 70 percent free space and used for gaming. SWKOtoRepublic options for graphics allows you to up the anti aliasing and anisotropic etc. Okay if that makes sense to you the reader, what is pushing my card and computer to the limit?

The scan test the game does on my system said i could run at 1024x768 at high textures. But I pushed the anti aliasing to 4x's and the anisotropic 4xs as well. Still do not understand what the smart shader does yet, to busy playing. I am one of those if it isn't broke don't fix it. I realize you sacrifice game play performance over quality and vice versa, but with this system however not the ultimate by a longshot...can I not enjoy the game in all of it's visual glory? I read posts that seem this game was or is riddled with lockup's, crashes, and jagged issues. Playing the first time last night letting the game random generate a soldier for me ( I hear the soldier is the best character anyway) and the game did give me some issues but soon were few and further between. But I don't want to get into a battle and have this happen, so now that I have written a novel I would really appreciate some feedback. Just some comments on my 97ati GC settings. Plus the Box or PC version which one?

Im running a 3000+ and 9800Pro, The game runs in 1600x1200, with 4xAA and 8xANI, though i dont need 4xAA on at 1600x1200 as there it not much point.

THough i dont really understand the point to your question. Why not just run it at its best settings. Or at least just try to see what suits you. Your system is no where near shabby and you should be able to run at 1280x960 with no prob.

Stay away from 800x600, cause it looks horrible no matter how much FSAA you apply to it.

Does it run smooth at settings that high!!? How is that possible? See my system specs in my signature, pretty much the same as yours. I can't run at higher than 1280x1024 without a sigificant framerate drop. And I can just forget about 1600x1200. I tried to use the exact settings you said (1600x1200, 4xAA, 8xAF), but that made my game crash. Enabling 4xAA in 1280x1024 caused some texture error. Many textures were distorted. (2xAA worked at 1280x1024, but it was slow.) I have v1.2 of the game, and Catalyst 4.1 graphics drivers.

I have 1.2 and 4.1 cats also.

Ive run 1600x1200 for the whole time. 4x aa on 1600x1200 can slow down now and then, but only when the game gets to a heavy action section.

Though as i said, 4xAA is pointless at that res. You wouldnt notice it.

Im not sure what is wrong with your system, im not overclocked or anything.

Just make sure you close all your programs like IM programs or AV software.

Even my bro with his 850 duron and 4600TI can run at 1024x768.

We all running winXP, we have indexing turned off, NTFS filesystem and running over 512mb Ram on 7200rpm HDD.
