tarballed
Hello everyone! I wanted to ask a couple questions here in regards to KOTOR. I have not bought the game yet as I'm still trying to find out if it is something I think I would like. I like BioWare games and enjoy RPG setups as well. My only question in regards to KOTOR is combat. How is combat compared to Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy? Is it similar, the same or completely different? I have been a fan of the Lucasarts series and im just looking to find out a bit more about KOTOR before I go and buy it. I appreciate your comments. T. SpaceButler14
Well, being an RPG it's totally different than JA and JO, since they're shooters. Your characters will generally do *ok* if you just let them fight, except for in the hard ones, but you can manage in a turn-based way like in NWN or other such games if you've played them. The only way it seems much different from d&d based games is in the graphics and that it looks cinematic, and a bit more realistic, (ignoring the sometimes discernable turn-based element), than JA. The big thing for me is that people can stand in place while swinging a sword, (who would have thought!??!).
-NGE-
yeah, JA and JO are basically quake in a starwars universe (not surprising seeing as they're using the Quake III engine ) and KOTOR is much more realistic. Your character stands in place versus his opponent and you block and parry and attack etc etc. Through a small menu you can choose what kind of attack you wish to perform, etc etc, and all while looking at realistic sabercombat. I for one, love it
