jedisolofrankum
hi, I have a visiontek 256 9600 and I was wondering if it's faster then the PNY verto 5900fxse card? -andrew
Anach
FX are crap, they lose in every comparison test with DX9 and image quality. Is why ATI market leader. Might sound like im an ATI camper, but i own both and sell both, just stating facts. Until someone builds something to beat ATI, they are who ill stick with
UndyingSamurai
years ago... i bought a PNY Geforce2 fx. Boy, was that a waste of hard earned cash. Reccomendation, save all your money and be patient. Buy a bitchin ATI 9700 or 9800, like I did

Correction: The first FX cards were crap. The newer FX cards like FX5900 are good. Though the GeForce cards are probably a little more expensive than the Radeons. More expensive, noisy and slower although not by much now and atleast it only takes one slot in your case now, instead of two. So due to all of the cons, i simply narrowed it down to crap as most people arent going for top of the line cards. Things may change, but for my money, ATI wins at this stage. jedisolofrankum
I went ahead and took my visiontek 9600 back and bought a geforce fx 5900 and the 5900 performs better then the 9600. Plus I like using the hardware mouse option in the game.
Anach
your comparing a 9600 with a 5900, the 5900 is a high end card. Along the lines of a 9800, which would blow it away. So it should perform better than a 9600. Though in general equivalent ATI cards outperform FX cards in 90% of tests. I have a 9800 on this machine and i use the hardware mouse. That was only an issue with 9600.
Anach
Now keep in mind this is a 9600 (PRO) in this. and the LINK Incase you want to read it.
