I personally don't understand the big deal about mods either. I can understand if they decide THEY aren't making any, period, end of story, etc etc.. but leave the community alone about it at the very least if you're not going to encourage and assist. It's good for business. ;P

But in any case, regardless of whether it's Bioware, Lucas, the Jolly Green Giant, or the Easter Bunny.. the answer to the question at hand is no. Until we can figure out the meshes and such so we can reverse engineer them into a format that we can edit in 3ds, milkshape, or what have you.. there's NO way to add or alter any models in terms of geometry, shape, size, etc etc.

All we can do to the models for the time being is to re-texture them, and even that sometimes requires hex editing, depending on just what we're trying to accomplish.

So for now, we're stuck with the hair choices they've already given us. If you can find a model that's SHAPE looks even remotely close to what you want, it can be re-textured to look more like what you'd have in mind, but that's about the best we can do for the time being unfortunately =/

Damn...and I was so hoping for my auburn haired, long legged, generously endowed, Brit speaking seductive temptress would make it to the big time and star in KoTOR...

That being said...I hope someone discovers a way around the "seemingly" limited number of "heads" KoTOR allows - I'd like to see some new MALE PC character heads/skins as well (to be truthful - none of the game "characters" does me justice ...even if I am an Obiwan Kenobi look-a-like *chuckles*)

I agree with the sentiment that the game makers should add some patch or something that allows modders to take more advantage of the game! Before UT, modding was usually limited to re"skins" and new maps, but these days, modding has come to encompass almost all games. For a game company to deny the modding community is just plain stupid. Especially a game this cool.

If Bioware had thought it through, we would have a Mods screen, similar to UT2003's, and it would be easy to import mods from other players without having to use the override folder at all! Hell, in a perfect world, we'd even be given programs to easily package the mods and put them in a directory to be read in-game.

Sadly, however, this isn't a perfect world, and Bioware hates us for some reason. :\

Yeah, Lucasarts just knows that KOTOR is basically as close to real starwars as we can get. They would never allow KOTOR to have an editor or mod officially, they know that no one would have the need to play SWG, JK2, or JKA. They know if we had the official tools all of us could make just about any senario that we like, and would be content on just playing KOTOR... and nothing else. The game is just that good.
